I grew up in a town where it was general knowledge that retired Italian mobsters retired to.

They made sure that town was clean, safe, and with very little crime. Chased out encroaching gangs and were generally an overall positive for the community.

Since they stopped retiring there a few years ago, the town has gone to shit.

Why the computer hate?

If I tried to write long form by hand, somewhere around two-thirds down the first page I’d have nothing but illegible chicken scratch.

The only question for classifying a job as "essential" is if someone will/might die if it's not performed.

If it only concerns profit... It's not essential.

I don't have a good knowledge of cozy sci-fi. If anyone has recommendations...
