I personally find the Leviticus 16:10 scapegoat quote to be more appropriate:

Aaron shall present the goat on which the lot fell for the Lord and offer it as a purification offering, but the goat on which the lot fell for Azazel shall be presented alive before the Lord to make atonement over it, that it may be sent away into the wilderness to Azazel.

It makes me sad growing up in public school and learning about these atrocities only to see so much repeat. It’s horrible.

  • Matthew 19:12, Jesus defends there are eunuchs for heaven
  • Acts 8:26-40, a eunuch travels from Ethiopia and is baptized with no questions from Phillip
  • People like Sarai/Sarah, Abram/Abraham, Simon/Peter, Jacob/Israel change their names to align with God
  • Galatians 3:28 calls Christians to see the dissolutions of opposites into God/Christ

I’ll also add that more Christians don’t take seriously Matthew 25:31, John 13:34, or James 2:16. If this really is a Christian nation, then you should feel armored by your faith. If/when your family is harmed, quote these verses over and over at them.

for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.’

This is explicitly mentioned in the parable of sheep & goats. The sheep aren’t saved because they told immigrants to go home, or they built anti-unhoused spaces in public, or were proud of sending people to jail. These behaviors are what send you to “eternal fire” in so far as you believe that.

I’m a Unitarian Universalist. I spent a lot of time not believing in God. I’m nonbinary with an X marker. I am worried. But if my potential captors actually believe this book, then I plan to cite Christ until they listen to the words.

1 John 4:8

Whoever does not know love does not know God, because God is love.

Yeah, I don’t get how the language is lost on these groups. :/ It feels like “never forget” has been forgotten & the opposite has been implemented instead. All genocide is awful.

Much more honest/fair take.

He was 94.

I don’t believe in conspiracy theories, but with the way right wing loves to talk about vampires & adrenochrome, could be more projection. /joking, of course
