These are all on the website. The guide is more geared towards less technical users. https://purchasewithpurpose.io/

Yup! An excellent option for Apple users.

Infomaniak/OnlyOffice might be a good bet. I'm personally giving MobiOffice and have been pleasantly surprised.

Thanks for the feedback! I had to limit the options presented to avoid making the guide overwhelming. Most of those options are listed on the website - https://purchasewithpurpose.io/

Out of interest, you circled a few options. Any reason? Or are those the tools you use?

The hope is that this guide and website can act as a simple way to introduce newcomers - whether it's you, friends or family - into this space and try something else besides the default options.

I have had a few people from the BDS movement respond to my guides, so I thought I would share directly. I am not an expert in this space, so, in addition to the companies listed on bdsmovement.net, please let me know if any of the recommended alternatives should be flagged.

There is also a community-driven, open-source site ( https://purchasewithpurpose.io/ ) that aims to make this even easier. This includes screenshots, ratings and a larger feature list.

I've also started tracking impact to help keep the momentum. If there are any stats, please share them so I can add them to the guides and, eventually, the website.

As always, I more than welcome criticism and ideas!

Don't believe I didnt think of this! Thanks so much

For some reason, not all of the tools are being published to the website. Mailfence has been added so will look into this tonight.

You are in luck! Pretty much all of the top options in https://purchasewithpurpose.eu/category/email/ have strong alias support. But Fastmail comes to mind with how it is integrated.

Also used both Fastmail and Infomaniak Mail. Ended up using Infomaniak Mail as there email grouping works really well.

Thunderbird

Right it isn't... the website is wrong then. I'll look to fix that.

I created these guides as I was dispondent in the direction the world is going and feeling helpless. Besides the political movements, I feel the next best thing is to promote businesses that don't prioritise profits over people.

The starting point is moving away from big tech, but the intention of the movement is to extend to other products and industries.

I have subsequently created a website after the popularity of these infographic guides with far more detail:

https://purchasewithpurpose.io/

Hope this helps you, friends or family, make the switch!

I shared a version of this guide earlier this year, but felt a website was needed to unpack the different options fully. So after an unreasonable number of hours, I put together the necessary data and website.

I hope this is digestible enough for the average person to help those looking to take that first step, or for people who are equally passionate and want to get their friends or family involved.

Details:

Every time I post these guides, there is always feedback on things that can improve, or I got wrong. Please do share, as it is the best way for these to evolve!

This is the first version, so I expect there to be a few mistakes. Please flag and provide feedback if you notice any improvements.

Discovered some fantastic options through this research. Hopefully this guide can help you!
