I mean, amateur radio was illegal to encrypt. That encryption ban could have theoretically also happened to the internet with just a few changes in legislation in a different timeline.

If, say the US and rest of North America, and the European Countries, along with Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, basically if most of the democratic world somehow in an alternate timeline just went batshit crazy and become authoritarian. What would the internet even look like. Would the internet even exist?

I mean, the US was supposedly a liberal democracy tried to ban PGP. A full fledged authoritarian US would've imprisoned many of those PGP and Free Software authors. HTTPS would've have a government root certificate on every computer, phone, tablet, smartwatch. Signal would've been illegal...

Is this alt-timeline too far fetched?

I mean its not even too late for this to happen starting like right now 2025, right?

Can't blackmail if I just say its a deepfake

Tbf, I as a non-white naturalized US Citizen, I would never wanna go to a red state anyways. Not much of a loss.

Btw, is there any laws against pissing on a grave, just wanna prepare for when my parents die.

I mean, red states don't like undocumented immigrants, and everyone seems to love "States Rights" so would is there anything wrong with Blue States just setting up their own requirements and procedures to obtain Citizenship in Blue States? Let them vote in all Statewide Elections. Essentially just make this like the American version of the EU, Citizenship is with the States, and if the Federal government is being a dick and doesn't give them Federal Citizenship, well fuck them, Let States decide if they are welcome or not.

Minimum Wage Workers can't melt Steel Beams! 9-5 was a full time job!

My ancestors.

Your ancestors too.

We have the same ancestors.

We're all really just family you know...

wait... isn't everyone just technically a cousin fucker? 🤔

Even if he is actually the perp. He performed a surgical strike with zero collateral damage. Just one evil man dead. That's it. Everyone else is unharmed.

Every revolutionary or pro-climate bomber has had killed many innocents along the way, so that immediately makes Luigi the best person amongst these 3.

Probably I would.

I mean, if they are just doing normal corrupt things, yea I'll go along with it.

If its massacres and genocides? Nah fuck that shit, I'm gonna "Julius Caesar" the fuck out of them, and grab power for myself and become a (benevolent?) dictator.

This is why Trump hasn’t pardoned himself

If he remaind in power for the rest of his life, he doesn't need to, that would look weak.

But if he still alive in 2029 January and was about to lose the presidency, he would probably attempt a self-pardon. Then its up to the 6-3 conservatives in the court to decide if that's even valid.

You don't need one if there's an emergency, civil unrest would probably qualify as an emergency so non-licensed people can legally transmit.

The FCC hasn't really punished anyone for not having a license other than those that are really bothersome/disruptive or are doing jamming. But like, if there's civil unrest, the laws probably don't matter anymore so you can just ignore the law.

But if you don't have a license, you don't have a callsign, and thus others will refuse to talk to you during non-emergency peacetime.

This would need like a Canadian or Mexican to help provide the internet from across the border, because if they pull the Iran style blackout there will be zero internet for the entire country.

So... British Empire... Colonialism... Opium wars...

As a result: Many Asian countries have strict anti-drug laws and also anti-drug culture.

That sentiment is also carried to medications.

So my parents are from one of these countries that was under british colonialism

Fast forward to modern day:

And I'm dealing with depression.

And I want antidepressants.

But my parents treat antidepressants as like a drug addiction.

So um...

British Colonialism is making me look like a brain damaged drug addict for seeking relief by trying to get antidepressant medication.

Thanks a lot, Queen Victoria, what a bitch lol.

I hate history.

What are some things that happened in the past that still affects you?

Random thoughts just popped in my head and I just remembered that all the water in a given city is all centralized. Just add poison and boom, eradicated an entire city who are full of dissidents/opposition as punishment for voting the "wrong" way, or for a protest, or if the population is filled with "filthy undesirable [Insert Racial Group Here]", or something like that.

Kinda unsettling to see that we are all just attached to "the grid" 😖

Electing judges doesn't really make sense to me. Are people supposed to dig up every court case they've ruled on? (Or for prospective new judges, every case they've represented in as a lawyer?)

(I'm in USA Btw; Does any other country even "elect" judges? Such a weird thing IMO.)

I want to watch a movie that will make me cry.

(Because I need those endorphins to help me with depression. I feel better after a good session of crying. Sorry if this is weird...)

Politicians make the laws, if people are being oppressed, its more of the politicians being the root cause of evil.

So... ACAB + APAB?

EDIT:

I'm using these definitions for the word politician: https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/politician

noun. [UK] - a member of a government or law-making organization

noun. [US] - a person who is active in politics, esp. as a job

I mean, we know they can be used as evidence against you, but what if I was actually just chilling and watching Youtube videos at home? Can my spying piece of shit phone ironically save me? 🤔
