The skills of buying, maintaining and disposing of used vehicles are various and judging when to let go is critical. Sent my much cherished Volvo V40 to the crusher in running condition because it needed a cam chain and a catalyst that would have doubled the value of the vehicle ๐ Still unsure it was the correct call.

Well said. Anarchism has received horrible press at the hands of Big Democracy but many of our current problems are rooted in the concentration of power, money and influence that capitalist societies seem to produce. On the other hand, can we live without the many products and technology that require large scale effort? It feels like that would be a major challenge for any fledgling anarchic society.

You could also argue that this was a very old man. Is god asleep at the wheel?
I wonder if there are cases where the system malfunctioned and went read only early? Presumably there would be some means of reversing it that you could exploit. Their customer service dept might have the answer.
I think you're correct, more likely to be a leaky joint or sensor out of calibration. The post was triggering because of my experience with a 99. I spent months tracking down a water leak into the passenger footwell and then the engine blew ๐
Very cool. That makes sense, the outer surface may be some mixture of particles from many places but the interior would give a better indication of what the composition is deeper into the crust. Are there instruments capable of determine the age of the samples?
Almost all of them.
Holy crap that's a lot of people and gear to lose generally, never mind throwing it away on such a pointless mission.
It sucks that we can't maintain much of our machinery. This problem is most acute with anything that has embedded code. Good luck with your search.
