I definitely read this as "Fallout-Boy fans" at first and was not prepared to deal with my own age

My small rural town still has it's own AM/FM radio station that covers the whole county that i absolutely love. It's a golden oldies station that mostly plays music from the 50's -70's. My car is too old to have Bluetooth, and the CD player doesn't work, so i usually listen to that when i am driving. Beach Boys, Grand Funk Railroad, Gordon Lightfoot, Jackson 5, Cher, Beatles, Rolling Stones, and other artists that topped the Billboard chart 70 years ago that have aince mostly been forgotten.

Literally the only power the courts have ever had is the executive's decision to abide by it. "John Marshall has made his decision, now let him enforce it." so even 200 years ago there was never anything actually stopping a president to expand his power. De Tocqueville pretty said the same when he did his deep dive into American politics.

We use to flip the light gray flap all shift in computer lab in middle school. When we got bored with that, we figured out how to pop out the Dell logo and flip it upside down

I started as a graphic designer back in November with absolutely zero experience. It's crazy being whown how to do stuff in Adobe suite by a 68 year old man

I applied to a very specific group of white men. That's it

It takes 24-72 hours to confirm if an animal has rabies. That's just not time that organ donations have.

George Carlin said "It's called the American Dream because you have to be asleep to believe it" 20 years ago. This is how America has always been, people are only now starting to wake up to that.

So then you were probably already buying steel from US steel or Cleveland cliffs. Most automotive ateel in the US is purchased from those two firms

No one is gonna start producing cheap shitty knick-knacks in the US. The will continue to be maid in China, only now they will be twice as expensive

Easiest way to dothat is stop supporting Israel's genocide in Palestine. Seems like all upsides to me

This was supposed to be a jellied cherry topping, but it didn't solidify properly, so i dapted and called it a glaze instead. It was absolutely delicious and i took it to my coworkers working the bar tonight.

Sunday Spin: Rush- 2112 (midwest.social)

One of my favorite albums of all time. My CDs of this and The Wall got me through high school and introduced me to the wider world of prog rock. I will argue that 2112 was Rush's greatest album, and that the singles on the B-side deserve way more love. Passage to Bangcock and Something For Nothing are masterpieces in their own right which would have shined had they not been bulldozed by the epic greatness of the title track. This is the album that saved Rush and paved the way for Canadian and American prog.

I dont make pies much because cooked fruits always triggered my gag reflex as a kid. It's thanksgiving time here in the US, so i have beene trying to bake pies to give out to friends and family.

This is a modified cobbler recipe that i had. I have been having loads of issues getting pie crusts to cooperate with me this month, and this was no exception. They keep coming out dry and flavorless no matter what i do. I've tried store bought, I've tried handmade, and nothing does what i expect it to do. I'm about to get a notebook and go full chemist on my pies to figure out what i am doing wrong. Obviously my weave was doomed from the start as i realized i needed to weave it before putting it on the pie.

On a personal note, i finally got a stable job this week. No more weeknight bartending hoping to make $20 a night. i got a job at a print shop that works with quite literally every organization in the surrounding area. That, coupled with my kittens getting their final round of vaccines this week means i can hopefully end the year on stable footing.

I've always loved ∆J since An Awesome Wave came out. I've always felt that This is All Yours was faithful to their first album while really cranking up the themes to 11.

As for the pressing itself, i have the color shuffled dual pressing with blue and yellow. The quality is fine compared to most other colored pressings, although my rig isn't really sophisticated enough to notice minor flaws.

I've been doing a lot of cookies recently. I always love to add walnuts to my chocolate chip cookies. I also went ahead and added a little bit of cloves to give them an extra little flavor. I should have swapped the baking sheets halfway through the bake, as the bottom rack cookies were a little under done.

I don't know why i struggle with yeast breads so much. I can never get them to proof properly so my loaves always come out so deflated and tough.

I used this recipe from my grans old cookbook

Unfortunately i messed up rolling the pancake, so it all came apart on me when i tried to transfer the little rolls. It all tastes great, basically an English manicotti, i just wish it didn't all fall apart so that you had something pretty to look at.

I got to Record Riot every time they are in Cleveland. It's a good time to hang out with friends and browse some cool collections. Mr. Spock's Music From Outer Space was everything i hoped it would be, and Dreamboat Annie is an absolute banger of an album. I've also been dying to get my Fog On The Tyne to wrap up my Lyndisfarne collection, since my mom was growing up in Newcastle when they were big.

Did you know that cranberries are full of pectin? I sure didn't until this week. But it's cranberry season here in the US, so i made a cranberry sauce with lime juice and maple syrup, and threw some corn starch in there to really seal the deal! O absolutely love lime and cranberry sauce, and the maple syrup really brings out a fall flavor to the pie. Thats on top of a condensed milk and cream cheese filling. On top we have a flour, brown sugar, and walnut crumb. I will admit that i cheated and used a frozen pie crust for it, but the challenge was for gelling agents, so hopefully you'll all be kind on me for that.
