China is doing worse than the west right now.

Hillary got more votes in the primary. If you can’t win a primary, there’s no reason to cry about your chances in the general.

[–] BadmanDan@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

I 100% agree. Dems don’t have to do this. Kamala literally gained more white support than Biden, Hillary and Obama 2012. Suburban White voters aren’t fleeing over trans stuff the way the media is trying to portray it.

But they’re winning the messaging battle.

[–] BadmanDan@lemmy.world 0 points 2 days ago

Nope. White people could fix all of this now if they simply voted better. But we know they won’t. No Dem has managed to win the white vote since Civil Rights passed. White people literally turned on the Dems over social issues.

Now let me tell you why the Hispanic vote is at fault instead. Barack beat John McCain by 10M votes, the largest presidential victory in the 21st century, Dems gained 59 seats in the senate off of that election. They had a large majority in the house after that election. 2008 is seen as good as Dem can perform in the modern era.

And you wanna what percentage Obama got the white vote in 2008?

43%

Yes, Obama got damn near the same percentage of white voters as Kamala Harris. And Trump around the same as McCain. Both Obama and Harris had lopsided black support.

So where does that leave us? Kamala more white support than Obama 2012, Biden and Hilary (way more than Hillary surprisingly). Yet, she performed worse than both of them and way worse than Obama. How could this be? The answer is simple.

HISPANIC VOTERS SWUNG LIKE 40 PTS TO THE RIGHT! NO DEM CAN WIN A PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION IF THE REPUBLICAN IS GETTING 46% OF THE HISPANIC VOTE!

[–] BadmanDan@lemmy.world -1 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Did you even read what you typed?

White people are republican’s BEST racial demographic and are essentially what keeps them competitive every election. And Harris managed to pull 42%, that’s very good for Democrat nationally in this era. In most elections, that would all but secure them the presidency.

But the big glaring issue is Trump pulling a massive 46% of the Hispanic vote. That’s the ball game right there. That Hispanic vote share for Trump nullified any blue wall Harris had with her existing white and black votes.

I’m not here to tell people who to vote for, I could care less after this country has already messed up big time allowing a 2nd Trump term. But you people who voted for Trump, have no one to blame, but themselves, and that includes the Hispanic vote. If you didn’t want to vote for Harris, then vote 3rd party or don’t vote at all. But giving Trump 46%, they are the absolute number 1 reason he’s in office right now.

You’d be surprised how much Ohions prefer this

Just a reminder. Male Latinos are literally the reason Trump is in office right now. Kamala had the black and white support to win, but make Latinos swung like 40 pts hard right.

I don’t live in Maine, so I have no say in that senate election. But I know it must be really hard for left of center Maine voters right now. But what’s even harder to deal with it, was the consistent victim blaming I’ve seen from the left for the last 6 months or so.

If this was 2015-2022. We wouldn’t have tolerated this type of behavior on the left. But I guess that was the “woke” era, and now we have to be just as sociopathic and dirtbag as MAGA. So many left leaning influencers have lost credibility with their attacks on his accusers. Saying that one of them is a Republican, dosent really hurt her argument because Platner dated her KNOWING she was a Republican.

Before these latest developments. I’ve said I’d still vote for Platner despite his scandals. Even the one about black people tipping which pissed me off. We went through an entire MeToo Movement, and preached to believe victims, but here we are. I guess Trump 2.0 really has done damage to social awareness in politics.

TLDR: How did we allow victim blaming like this to happen on the left?

Why can’t these people stop boring trump with stuff like “governance”. The man is 80, you think he wants to do his job. Just let the man golf in peace

Bucks.

That’s nothing compared to actually winning the white vote and almost winning the Hispanic vote

[–] BadmanDan@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

100% is marketing. Mamdani really isn’t doing any policies that progressive Dems at the local level haven’t already done or tried to do.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has damn near an identical policy position as Mamadani, but he’s not promoted by the mainstream media and pundits every week, so the public gives him hell. Holchul literally agreed to absorb NYC’s debt for the entire state to pay off to help Mamdani’s agenda breathe, and the far left still gives her hell, despite her not even having to do that for him.

Politics is deeply unserious today.

[–] BadmanDan@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

It’s almost like Biden got the most votes ever and 2024 was a red wave year. If Mamdani had ran in 2024, he prolly be less than 50%, still a win, but closer. Thats just how elections are. Candidates rarely overperform wave years against their party.

Kamala could run again in 2028, and with a strong Dem wave, could easily break Biden’s margins. It’s not that complicated.

Yes I know the cliche saying of “every president is war criminal” blah blah blah. But last president atleast were attacked or provoked by recognized threat. Trump has -

  • Tried to coup the US government over election results
  • Sent ICE agents into cities to harass the public
  • Defended ICE killing civilians by labeling victims as “domestic terrorist”
  • Bombed Nigeria on Christmas 2025 (it’s unknown the casualty count), Nigeria did not attack us
  • Illegally invaded Venezuela and kidnapped their leader and his wife, Venezuela did not attack us
  • Is currently starving the country of Cuba with no food, electricity or aid, Cuba did not attack us
  • Is spreading false information about White Genocide in South Africa
  • Killed Iranian Generals in his first term after tearing up Obama’s Iran Peace Deal
  • Bombed a school of little girls in Iran
  • Started a war with Iran, killing their leader, Iran did not attack us
  • Wants to occupy and takeover Greenland, Greenland did not attack us or ask for this
  • Inplements unprofessional and nonsensical tariffs on the Global economy

And so much more. Why dosent social media, traditional media, reddit, lemmy, democrats, ANYBODY ever call this gu ya terrorist. No other president has caused this much global terror in the modern era.

Just out of sheer laziness?

Nina Turner: Dems need to fight more.

Dems Fight More

Nina Turner: How dare Dems fight more!

  1. They want $30 a month, a steep increase over what consumers already pay.

  2. ESPN is paying the WWE $200m more than what NBC gives them, FOR LESS, this deal dosen’t include WWE’s achieved library (which has serious value)

  3. Both TKO and ESPN are dealing with sexual harassment/assault cases right now.

  4. The WWE product isn’t necessarily hot right now, and they continue to prove gouge their loyal fans.

Am I missing something here, but this sounds like an incoming disaster of a deal, especially for ESPN.

Context, I’m a liberal, who’s voted Democratic every election I’ve been able to.

I’ve constantly see you guys complain and bash Democratic politicians pretty much since the rise of populism with Sanders in 2016.

I just want to know if populism is so great and Democrats are out of touch, and if you ran on just economic populism, and ignore social issues (which the right won’t), you’d easily win every election right? So by that logic, gaining massive support from all sides of the political spectrum should be easy right? Everyone says it’s all about messaging and vibes. And the Dems are failing at both, so wouldn’t right now be the best time to seriously back a fully populist leftist party? If a majority of the country polls high for Medicare for All, by proxy, they should vote for the candidates promising that, and they don’t talk about social issues that might scare off right wingers willing to vote for them.

I just don’t understand the mindset of constantly infighting with us liberals and protest voting hurting our causes. Just start your own party and beat us within YOUR system. We’ll never fully drop social issues, so we’ll never win a fair amount of conservatives, but you guys can.

We all see and hear what goes on over there. Kim will execute kids if they don’t cheer hard enough at his birthday party or something? He’s always threatening to nuke countries and is probably has the highest domestic kill count out of any world leader today.

So I ask? Why don’t any other countries step in to help those people. I saw a survey asking Americans and Escaped North Koreans would they migrate to North Korea and to the US if given the chance (hypothetical for the refugees). And it was like <0.1% to 95%. Obviously those people live in terror.

Why do we just allow this to happen in modern civilization? Nukes on South Korea? Is just not lucrative to step in? SOMEONE EXPLAIN TO ME PLEASE!?

If so? Please elaborate.

If not, what would he do different?
