Interesting. They were expecting the additional diversity of the food web in these areas to lead to the snakes evolving more universally deadly venom.

I think it stands to reason that in an environment with a large variety of food the snake would develop some type of preference or be limited by their own capabilities to hunt certain prey. The venom is tailored to have the strongest effect on the prey most likely to be caught.

A diverse biome could create a larger potential for diverse feeding habits, but who's to say snakes don't just prefer eating birds or whatever when they have the freedom to choose which prey they value most?

Very cool study, I'll be interested to see what comes from this

Broadcasting your criminal intent to commit war crimes in an international meeting and then tweeting it out with a transcript just to ensure that everyone on earth can see how utterly depraved and genocidal both Israel and the united states government is 👍👍👍👍

I got served an unironically white nationalist 4chan post and apparently posting "kys" in a comment is, regardless of any context, justification to admin ban me from an entire instance/multiple communities with no notification.

I only found out bc I messaged a mod I recognized in a sub I was banned from and they said it wasn't a mod action it was instance admins or something and there was nothing they could do

I get it but also like nobody forced you to trawl my comments in other instances and block me pre-emptively for not following your rules. I also should 100% be told about an action like this regardless of how flimsy their justification is.

I shouldn't have to figure it out myself and then go find out how to contact the admins of an instance I'm not even on. All that effort just to argue a case about how they took my shitty comment out of context.

(All this on the instance that hosts the community about .ml mods unilaterally banning people for saying mean things they don't like.)

Right, like, corruption is there, sure. But the corruption in and of itself has no impact on the viability of the public service. The fact that it is privately owned and for profit by definition will mean that the money allocated for the service originally will be redirected into being profit instead. What happens to a service that now has less funding? It turns to shit.

Can public services have corruption? Sure.

The difference being: corruption of a service in which 99% of funding is directed towards providing the service takes less away than corruption of a service with half of the funding being allocated as "profits" before even getting to the "corruption" in the equation.

You're basically multiplying the effectiveness of corruption by giving the responsibility to capitalists who will, first and foremost, create profits out of a publicly funded service.

VAT pays for public Healthcare in real countries

Is there anyone here technologically savy enough to, say, harvest IP addresses for reddit accounts?

In light of the recent authoritarian takeover on reddit I'm seeing more and more brazen nazis openly advocating their nazi ideology in every subreddit including fednews and other communities directly tied to the suffering being caused.

I want to create a register and publicly expose these people who are out here openly advocating for destroying communities, defunding social programs, and dismantling agencies whose sole function was to improve the lives of those without the means to do so.

I know, I know, "it's wrong to doxx people" but honestly, are nazis people? If the gas chambers start getting filled are those who say "it's just a vote you can't hate people for their votes" going to be held accountable or are they just going to get to watch comfortably as their choices kill millions?

I say we don't let them get the chance to see it. I say we start plastering the names and faces of the people behind these accounts all over social media, linking to their accounts, and highlighting their comments for posterity. These people are disgusting, and I'm sick of seeing it go unpunished. We, the people, need to make it impossible for fascists to congregate or spread their ideas online anymore. Out them, make them feel threatened, make them afraid of who might be coming.

I don't know enough about internet protocols to be able to functionally perform these tasks alone without my Google history becoming an instant red flag. If there are any fine comrades with this knowledge who would be willing to either teach it to others or join in would be greatly appreciated. If there's a real appetite for this we could create a new community specifically for organizing the efforts and directing resources towards the worst offenders.

Thanks for taking the time to consider. If there are better communities for this post or this is not the right space for it please let me know where I should direct this proposition for the best results. Love you <3

This program allowed food banks to pay local farmers for their goods to provide meals and groceries for millions of people in central North Carolina. This will not be the last community hurt like this.
