I spoke with several employees of Sweet Baby Inc. to learn what the company actually does and how the misunderstanding of its role in the industry highlights a far broader problem.

You don't know what Sweet Baby Inc. does, but you assume the people complaining about SBI must be incorrect? Do journalists in any other sector of the market fall all over themselves rushing to defend companies like they do in game development?

I can't imagine that you can get out of bed without waking your wife if your smartwatch vibrating wakes her up.

The actual winner, Thomas Hicks, was near collapse and hallucinating when he crossed the finish line, a side effect of being administered brandy, raw eggs, and strychnine by his trainers.

why the fuck did they give him strychnine

Thomas Hicks ended up as the winner of the event, although he was aided by various measures that would not have been permitted in later years.[9] Ten miles from the finish, Hicks led the race by a mile and a half, but he had to be restrained from stopping and lying down by his trainers. From then until the end of the race, Hicks received several doses of strychnine (a common rat poison, which stimulates the nervous system in small doses) mixed with brandy and egg white.[2] He continued to battle onwards, hallucinating, and was barely able to walk for most of the course. When he reached the stadium, his support team carried him over the line, holding him in the air while he shuffled his feet as if still running.[6] Hicks had to be carried off the track on a stretcher, and might have died in the stadium had he not been treated by four doctors. He lost eight pounds during the course of the marathon.[6][10]

what the fuck

The only platform not yet supported is the Mac Pro, although there probably isn’t much left to do. No, not the “MacBook Pro”, but the “Mac Pro” – the one that looks like a cheese grater and costs thrice as much.

I've always wondered what sort of look they were going for.

If you haven't seen "King of Kong," you should definitely watch it.

I don't know what "Herren" means, but WC stands for water closet. It sounds to me like there isn't any running water or stalls.

Rather amazingly, set into its outside wall on the street is a pissoir. The "Herren WC" sign is a little misleading, as there is neither WATER nor a CLOSET."

How wonderful!

Just so you are aware, there are people who believe Just Stop Oil is intentionally trying to make climate activists look bad because some of their funds come from a member of the Getty family. I first became aware of the conspiracy theory when they threw soup on that painting. I do not have the opinion that they demonstrate behavior that is significantly worse than any other group.

I fund climate activism – and I applaud the Van Gogh protest
Aileen Getty

The Just Stop Oil protest shocked the world, but we must take disruptive action on the climate crisis before it’s too late
...
I am the daughter of a famous family who built their fortune on fossil fuels – but we now know that the extraction and use of fossil fuels is killing life on our planet. Our family sold that company four decades ago, and I instead vowed to use my resources to take every means to protect life on Earth.

People often come up with theories about my motivation to engage in the climate movement. My motivation is clear: I am fighting for a livable planet for my family and yours. I am not dwelling on the past. I am looking to build a better future.

The message is that you deserve nothing and must earn everything, not that there isn't enough to go around.
