Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

President Trump will impose a 10% tariff on all countries

It's just whatever at this point. Clearly he's gunning for recession, fuck it. Nobody in Congress stopping him.

At this point all those emergency powers Congress has given the President since the 1920s needs to be pulled back because clearly we can no long assure that the President won't declare everything an emergency.

It’s just a massive tax hike, to then be given away to rich folk.

It is important to know that US manufacturing never 'went away' it just changed.

Productivity and automation have taken more jobs than them moving overseas.

US manufacturing output for the last 100 years.

And by "just changed" we mean taking the money away from workers and giving it to CEO's and shareholders.

I will not disagree, "just changed" is doing some heavy lifting.

My only point with the graph was to show manufacturing in the US is near an all time high.

This reads like a five year old trying to explain a drug dealers economics to the elderly who have no idea how any of this works.

What a bunch of fucking idiots.

A report was received about this breaching rule 1. In this case, the title used to submit the link provides more context than the original title, and will be allowed to remain.

Have we forgotten that he has done this each month since he was Inaugurated?

Tomorrow the stock market will crash on this news. The wealthy will buy on this massive dip, and in a few days, HitlerPig will announce that the countries on his list have responded to his tariff threats, so he is postponing them for a month or so.

The stock market will recover a bit, and the wealthy will make a fortune. In a month, he'll do it all over again.

It's deliberate market manipulation.

The last president stupid enough to rely on tariffs sent us into the Great Depression, which required WWII to save us. HitlerPig's version is far worse.

Clearly, these traitors are not concerned with being held accountable in future elections for their irresponsible behavior. That means they are confident in their plan to either rig the elections, or suspend them altogether.

This is what I have learned from all of this. Trump has exposed the one lever where there is no checks or balances. He found a sharp machete when he went looking for pruning shears.

It’s Ironic the United States will be hoisted on its own petard. The unchecked powers that helped allow financial dominance for years is now a weapon against itself.

But can’t be helped because there is a lot of money to be squeezed out of this country. Which now that I think about it, resembles a piggy bank ready for slaughter

Data analysts, medical researchers, astrophysicists - gone. You’ll work in a factory making plastic toys.
