well now they both get the salaries and the money that goes to the poor so they can use that money to help the poor and unemployed and make america great again?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 10 hours ago

It is obviously a waste of money, as the money goes to poor people, and not to the billionaires.

You know what? I’ll say the thing: I hope a meaningful amount of poor republicans freeze to death next winter. I am absolutely fucking done giving a shit about people that vote against their own interests so goddamn constantly. The leopards will enjoy eating their faces, and I shall laugh as it happens.

The office of Senator Susan Collins, Republican of Maine, issued a statement saying: “Senator Collins has been a longtime advocate for LIHEAP and the critical financial assistance it provides to lower income families to help ensure that they can stay warm during the winter months. It is unclear how, and if, the administration of this program will be affected by the HHS staffing changes.”

I'm surprised there wasn't another "I'm sure they've learned their lesson" in there from this dumb fucking bitch.

People are going to get their power or gas shut off and they’re either going to die or have to spend dark nights wrapped in blankets shivering hoping they make it to the next day so that billionaires can make an extra buck, you soulless bitch

Collins is such a smug cunt

Say it with me now, fuck the poor.

I just don’t get why people choose to be poor. It seems like a difficult way to live. Why don’t these people just get some more money?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 23 hours ago

Just have to pull yourself up by the bootstraps and take a 5-6 figure loan from your parents. C'mon people

If Elon can own 5+ companies then surely they can manage one!

Plus get a few billion in charity from the government.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

😔 If only the government would stick to handouts for billionaires instead of helping people who need it, we could finally take all of social security and put it into the hands of billionaires who pay people to play video games for them because they have an inferiority complex

[–] [email protected] 1 points 22 hours ago

I’m sure it would trickle down at some point, right?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 22 hours ago

If they weren't poor, people like Bezos wouldn't have to pay so much in taxes and he could finally get that new jet and 5th vacation beach house he's been wanting, even though that's not really how income works for rich people. Come on poors! Why don't you want Jeff to get another vacation home??? What else would you want to read about waiting at the checkout stand? "We solved child poverty"? BO-RING!

This is going to have "downstream" impacts as well... For those poorer Americans that are "lucky" enough to have a space to rent out, that rent is going to get more expensive to cover the loss of income they need...

Between the social security, Medicare/Medicaid (I can never remember which is which) and this bullshit, my rent is about to skyrocket so my landlord can stay afloat. :/
