Overview:

The community dedicated to boycotting the US until they stop fascism, restore full democracy and start following international law.

Americans have a moral obligation to resist Donald Trump and project 2025 at every turn.

America is a flawed democracy currently being ruled by oligarchs. Stop the backslide! Dont let America become the next Hungary.

America needs to challenge the court rulings of citizens united v. fec and shelby county v. holder, protect the media, implement independent district drawing, and the single transferable vote so they don't end up having people stay home in life-changing elections because they cannot vote for their favourite candidate.

Stares at AfD and National Rally I don't think so. America is Europe about 10 years in the future, so this is coming for y'all too if you don't change course.

Nah we're still stuck in the past.

We're just getting to 1939.

If I agree can I possibly be allowed to be European?

[–] cosmicrookie@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Depending on where you're from it should be pretty easy to become European 👍💪

I'm from Canada and I've heard the dutch like Canadians.

Although, my family is from Sri Lanka.

Denmark could be a good pick too!

Copenhagen looks like an absolute DREAM to live in. Even the climate seems like a less angry version of the climate we have here.

(I'm typing this while stuck in a restaurant waiting for a snow storm to pass)

That's why I mentioned that it depends on where they are from. Many Scandinavian countries are indeed sceptical of people who move from some nationalities. That said, a cartoon is not really an argument to make is it?

Eh, "Scandinavia and the World" is generally a good measure for stereotypes about Scandinavians from a Scandinavian point of view, if you take the exaggeration typical for the medium of "funny comic" into account.

Everybody likes Canadians, bruh.

Well, considering the Netherlands was liberated by Canadian troops in WWII and they even send us a bunch of tulips each year as thanks I think they have a particular liking to us.

Ah, makes sense. Thx4i.

I'm just saying the baseline is positive with most people.

Yeah baby!

I appreciate your support in my European endeavors

[–] Enzy@lemm.ee 5 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Yeah sure

Bring your guns too, we might need them

[–] JokeDeity@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

I hate to be a stereotypical American in that I do own two guns, but I also will be the first to tell you citizens should not be able to. Anyhow, I would trade them before a heart could make a beat to escape this nightmare.

That's an incredibly broad generalization, but yeah we should all aspire to share no common values with the Trump administration.

[–] match@pawb.social 6 points 1 year ago (2 children)

not sure the trump administration has values

Not even them. The 0.1% want a high performing economy

Fascism has no real values beyond having power over others.
