The bit about the Annual report smells a bit like clickbait, however the People section in the Sustainability report does seem to have noticeably cut down mention of D&I when compared to previous years.

Annual Report

Word 2022 Report 2023 Report 2024 Report
inclusion 4 7 4
gender 3 5 3
diversity 5 5 ~1
disability 0 2 3
LGBTQIA+ 0 2 0
colour (people) 0 1 0

Most of the inclusivity is talked about under strategic overview point 6 which covers the team. It seems the 2023 report was a bit of an outlier as 2023 put a lot of focus on diversity, where 2022 focused more on employee motivation and 2024 focuses more on the new campus, piloting the Sunflower Lanyard and expanding their menopause programme to China and the Czech Republic.

Sustainability Report

Word 2022 Report 2023 Report 2024 Report
inclusion ~35 ~24 ~9
gender ~13 ~8 ~5
diversity ~20 ~9 ~2
disability ~9 ~1 ~8
LGBTQIA+ 2 1 0
colour (people) 2 1 0

The focus on diversity is mostly under the People section in each. With 7 pages in 2022, 6 pages in 2023 and 5 pages in 2024. With mention of D&I being lost for the most part from what I can tell.

It's disappointing. I won't even bother translating the response LEGO gave in a written reply to DR, because it's just a corpo jargon nothing burger.
What the journalist that produced the numbers in the article speculates is that LEGO is trying to stay ahead of the insanity that is Trump's America, to avoid getting sued for being too "DEI" etc.

I've seen a lot of companies using this as a justification and i take it as a reminder that companies (even the 'good' ones) by definition cannot have morals or ideals, and are, and always will be solely and unequivocally motivated by money.

Oh hey, this reminds me I wanted to get a couple mould king star wars kits.

I built one a few years ago and it was great.

It's a shame lego bent the knee.

Just because they don’t put it in writing doesn’t mean they don’t believe or practice it. Have fun with your mould king sets for sure( built one myself and it was fun)but you have no idea who owns them or their politics either.

Oh okay, I'll continue buying from businesses that only pay LIP SERVICE to nazis, and be sure to closely observe each business that does this to determine which actually believe the nazi rules they comply with instead of just pretending to.

When a fascist regime says jump, and all the businesses jump, you don't stop and ponder which businesses only pretended to jump.

Good news. Neither of you matter regardless what you buy and none of it will make a difference. Have fun arguing strawman for made-up moral superiority points.

It does matter and it will make a difference. You're objectively wrong.
