I too was annoyed about half of the package being stiropor. At least use air cushions or carton triangles or something. Way easier to dispose.

Ugh. I hate that foam stuff. Someone left it outside of the garbage comtainers. Not whole, but in broken pieces. The wind dispersed it further. We saw an abandoned shopping cart and used it to collect the pieces and throw it in with the plastic. Better there than in the park. It was awful.
It's kinda insane how cheap TVs are if you can ignore black levels.
And it'll hold up about as well as modern furniture.
Pro tip: add a bead of glue when assembling furniture, it’ll hold up way better

IKEA furniture and wood glue. Known trick for making it a lot sturdier.
A lot of our furniture is second hand as it felt sturdier than Ikea stuff. Might consider that option though if we need something we can't find second hand.
Just do some errands for your neighbors and shake a few trees and you'll upgrade from the starter furniture in no time.
