Putin’s misguided dream to restore the Russian empire has set its military back for decades. He’s squandered the remnants of a global empire because he personally could not stomach Ukrainian independence.

China’s demand for oil is past its peak, and sky high interest rates can’t prop up the Russian economy forever. Depleted stocks and poor economic forecasts don’t bode well for the Russian “Empire.”

The invasion of Ukraine was a strategic blunder of historic proportions, and all because he underestimated the strength of the Ukrainian people and their will to be free.

Admittedly, there's a parallel universe where Zelensky flees, ukranian opposition is in disarray, and they seized Kiev and Odessa in the first week.

But Zelensky didn't need a ride...

That quote, "I don't need a ride, I need ammunition" lives in my head rent free. THAT'S what a real man says. That's what a real leader says.

His life has been in danger now everyday for 3 years. Everyday he continues to serve his people. Everyday he continues to lead the nation against the biggest tyrant of our generation.

And through all that, everyday he wakes up each morning and puts on his big boy pants.

Ukrainians are the greatest comedians on the planet. They've made a fool of Putin and a joke of the Russian army.

we are very funny

— my friend from western Ukraine

it's something I've learned from my Ukrainian, African, and Jewish allies. comedy is a weapon of the liberator. jokes are the only panacea, not because they'll heal you but because they'll save your life. they're also like song, dance, and food in that they help us weave the tapestry of the secret lost history the powers that be don't want you to hear.

when the going gets tough, the tough put on their clown noses

— my African american professor of ethics

none of this to say that conservatives don't try to harness comedy. i mean look at jeff dunham. but conservative comedians always struggle eventually. comedy is like street art. it challenges us by subverting the status quo. conservatism is a political philosophy centered around that nothing should change, or we should move backwards to a prior "glorious" era. just like conservative street art, conservative comedy sucks. it feels shallow, lazy, and manufactured. it has adopted the aesthetic of rebellion to placate would be rebels. it may work for a short time, but conservatives never stay in the zeitgeist long. they'll blame cancel culture, say everyone's too sensitive, that people can't tell or take jokes anymore. the truth is they just aren't that truly funny the way someone who's telling jokes to challenge the status quo is, and the people can always tell.

If you haven’t already bought and/or read it, would highly recommend “A Message from Ukraine”.

That's why they're sending squads of dudes on dirt bikes. It's what they have left.

They are also having their own soldiers pay for and use goats for logistical movement of arms and ammunition. They are running out of everything.

They’ve handed out all the Ladas already?

[–] [email protected] 21 points 2 days ago (1 children)

8 guys on 4 dirtbikes can scatter when a drone starts swooping.
The lada only scatters AFTER the drone hits it.

Been watching equipment leave these depots since the start of the 3 day war, they really have been scraping the bottom of what could even be considered serviceable

Russia really is Ukraine's largest defense supplier lol

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Any coordinates you can share?

The Soviet Union was huge, and dispersed tanks in a multitude of storage depots. Russia is big, and inherited most of them, in varying condition.

Covert Cabal does a good high level OSInt overview, but here’s a list of everything.

Much obliged

Gonna leak the new Russian tank design soon to be used on the front here instead of the War Thunder forums:

If I am right, this tank will be also in a parade of the Great Patriotic War this spring?
