Community service for manslaughter? The guy clearly did not give a shit about causing bodily harm to this elderly woman.

Meanwhile, if you display a prohibited symbol, you'll now get a mandatory minimum sentence of 12 months in gaol.

I get both sides tbh, the family are very upset and want to punish the guy, he's killed their mother, and at the same time he's not a threat to community and made one of the dumbest mistakes I can think of, there's no point putting him in prison because he made a stupid mistake

I feel like not enough blame is being pointed at the dementia care facility letting her get a hold of a steak knife in the first place. Ms White died from the fall, not the taser, any other technique used to disarm her safely could've easily led to the same outcome.

I also think "mancatchers" should be equipped to both dementia care and police vehicles. They're a cheap, simple effective way to restrain someone with minimal risk to the detainer.
