Well, if it's good enough for a couch-fucking VP and a weekend TV show hosts playing Secretary of Defence, it's good enough for me.

God dammit.

I'm JUST starting to talk to a woman online. I was going to tell her she can use Signal usernames if she's not comfortable with giving phone numbers.

Kik gained a reputation as being a sex app.

Signal now has the reputation of being a trump thing.

CAN'T I JUST HAVE ONE GOD DAMNED APP THAT ALLOWS WOMEN TO EXCHANGE A HANDLE RATHER THAN A PHONE NUMBER SO THEY FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE???

Signal would still be my recommendation for most people.

Less user friendly options would be SimpleX, Session.

Session is problematic and I wouldn't recommend it. They are building it on a crypto and the network isn't exactly stable. They already changed the crypto which costs there investors thousands.

Other options include Briar although it works best during internet shutdowns.

If Signal is good enough for CIA, it should be good enough for you.

Just don't add another woman to the chat!

Well.....I meant more from the angle of "hey, add me on signal".

"Signal? What's that?" researches with quick google search

"Oh, he's a trump guy...." BLOCK

Briar, perhaps?

Regardless, I feel your pain about shit you're using being co-opted by shitheads or just something undesirable.

An ironic instance of Trump's "no such thing as bad publicity" philosophy in action
