All games I wouldn't play anyways because corporate greed.

There's no way this makes them any less greedy. And there's no way the concentration of power with Tencent benefits anyone.

From the article ...

In a conference call, Ubisoft chief financial officer Frederick Duguet said the subsidiary's board "will be controlled by Ubisoft, so Ubisoft will continue controlling and consolidating this entity."

lol sure for now, all of those “we’ll control this buyout” lasts for like a year until the org is dissolved or whatever because the majority shareholder has changed the deal

Phew, Ghost Recon and Watch Dogs are safe for now.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

The deal includes the teams working on the mentioned properties, but doesn't go into what IPs are changing hands. I wouldn't be surprised at all if all Tom Clancy series are lumped together

Unless this means they get axed as "superflous".

I worked for Ubisoft for more than 10 years. This is the first encouraging news about the company I've read in a long time.

Sounds like they extracting the good shit and gonna let rest of that shit fail...

Great executive leadership in action here. How much IP did they destroy

Well, goodbye all of those franchises. Tencent can gargle a bag of dicks.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

They need to sell the Trials IP to someone who will use it - preferably someone with a soul.
