EBM / post-punk

Finding inspiration in futurist writer Luigi Russolo's "The Art of Noises," the pair employs a sonic palette that mirrors the chaos of the modern industrial era. Sextile excels at regulating noise, whether the source is a percussive clang, guitar stab, synth trill, or Keehn's militant vocals ... [the album] '3' places the band's sound somewhere between DAF and Gang of Four...

Not sure why you got downvoted. Sextile can be hit or miss for me. But I've always loved this track. The buzzy humming, the rhythmic wet thumping bass, minimalist punk ethos lyrics broken by staccato synth stabs.

Hah, you should see when I post Insane Clown Posse, it usually lands around 0 with slighly more downvotes than upvotes.

I have a pretty Broad and diverse listening range. I think I'd struggle quite a bit to justify lumping them in under Gothic or industrial. Though I would admit I don't listen to them much or at all on my own. I think I would classify them far more under rap or rock or metal? Then again I see Mindless Self Indulgence generally lumped in with Gothic and Industrial pretty regularly.

But if skinny puppy or oghr are goth/industrial. Which they definitely are. Then acts like sextile or sexual purity definitely are.

But it can all be so fluid and genres are so nebulous and somewhat arbitrary sometimes. So I'm not here to yuck someone's yum.

Yeah I guess ICP's a bad fit for this community. Tho Violent J has a song where he's trying to sound like Nine Inch Nails, I was thinking of posting it next week for April Fool's.

This one is always a perennial Contender for April Fools.

Oh that is awesome. I love how all the NIN fans in the comments are like: yep, that's true. Awright, next Tuesday when I post my Violent J song, see if you can post that one.
