How completely sick in the head do you have to be to do something like this 🤢
News
Welcome to the News community!
Rules:
1. Be civil
Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.
2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.
Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.
3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.
Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.
4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.
Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.
5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.
All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.
What got me was the one guy who said it wasn’t rape because “It's his wife, he does what he likes with her." Tf kind of reasoning even is that?!
Conservative reasoning?
Marital rape only became a crime in the mid -late 1990's in most countries.
Before that it was really like that before the law. She's his wife? He has a right to her body.
Even then, the drugging and the 50 other men involved would not be considered marital consent.
That seemed wrong so I looked out up on Wikipedia and wholy shit it's really only been 30 years. I wonder how many of my peers are products of legal rape. Wikipedia article with worldwide data
The same kind Steven Crowder uses.
Jesus fucking christ what a tough day to be able to read.
So angry right now.
You’re talking about the frontrunner for the GOP, presidential candidate, as well as a private individual who never raped anybody. And, of course, understand that by the very definition, you can’t rape your spouse.
-Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen
Jfc, the story gets worse. Somehow.
Daughter storms out of father’s rape trial after court hears he kept nude pictures of her
Holy shit, how does it get worse. Of course it does. The daughter:
Ms Darian told Le Parisien this week that she was haunted by the fear her father may have invited some of the men to rape her after a picture of her “in someone else’s underwear” was found on his computer.
Gisèle Pélicot has waived her right to anonymity to insist that her rape trial remains public so “this never happens again”.
Mrs Pélicot insisted the trial should not go on behind closed doors because “that’s what her attackers would have wanted”, said Antoine Camus, one of her lawyers.
This lady is a fucking badass. I can't respect anyone more than I respect her for this move.
Right, that's enough internet for me today.
...it's shit like this that makes me root for the meteor.
Poor woman. That's just disgusting on so many levels.
2011 through 2020... That is both frightening in its length and disturbing that he was able to get (invite) that many men to do this and it was never discovered.
Oh I thought it was all at the same time.
There's a line in the story about her suffering through this for 10 years. It's horrific to consider.
through 2020
Which implies that it only stopped because of the pandemic
I think the article said it was only found out because police happened across the files during an investigation of something else (namely, the husband trying to take upskirt photos of women in public).
Sometimes people will do things so fucked up you'd never imagined them before. This is one.
How do you find and arrange 50 men with no conscience to participate? Holy shit.
Oh, it wasn't all at once......
So the guy would have been in his 50’s when he started doing this? Maybe it’s just me, but feels like there’s probably much more victims out there.
