They should've just gave me half that money. I'll waste it on a home and retirement. It would've been cheaper.
I'd take the other half and the detained immigrants - for free! Then I'd hire them all immigration lawyers and split up what's left.
Where was DOGE on this? They could have saved taxpayers $16M or more by simply shutting down ICE. 🤦♂️

Nothing more Republican than wasting taxpayer dollars. Seriously. It's what they get off on. Just look at Greg Abbott, I've never seen a politician waste more money on frivolous political stunts than Greg Abbott. Well until now at least. It's like they get off on burning your money in front of you maliciously.
Where is DOGE now, huh? Maybe they should look into how much Trump's golf is costing tax payers, how about Elons billions in handouts.

This is a tent built to house thousands of people. In a remote location where the manufacturers are across and an ocean. 3 mill might be a bit high but the numbers start adding up.

Flip side. Thank God. The idea of detention camps at gitmo definitely kept me up for a few nights.

All of this is a bit of a waste, really. A lot of those people were already in US prisons to begin with. We're paying ICE to re-arrest people. It's so dumb.
Rearresting innocent people nonetheless
I mean, not everyone in prison is innocent. Some of them are cartel members, gang-affiliated face tats and all. But I guess, statistically speaking, quite a few probably weren't actually guilty of what they were put in for. Best not to think in absolutes.
Edit: clarified. That said, tats are not exactly something you're born with and prison tattoos are a thing, and a real problem for people seeking reform after gang membership. Family friend of mine was in XIII but ended up a muralist and needed it removed.

My 63 year old mother has face tats. She just loves decorating herself.
I think that everyone in a rigged system designed for their failure cannot be fairly judged by that system, and I assume innocence until proven otherwise.
