Searching lemmyverse.net yields the following:

Niche communities:

Niche instances:

My hunch in this case would be to leave the niche communities and instances as they are, and consolidate the rest to lemmy.zip (most active users).

Thoughts?

I would delete all tesla communities, perma-ban anyone who creates/takes part in them, DOX them and setup a site where anyone can link their name to their tesla fandom.

j/k just in case if anyone thinks I am being serious. Tesla communities are fine, I believe in a "big tent" approach (with the exception of tankies, nazis and russians who support genocidal imperialism).

I think no one wants to have anything to do with Tesla nowadays...

With that said, I'm toying with the idea of adding some aggregation system to Fediverser where the community mods can choose to automatically cross-post content from the Fediverse (not just Lemmy/Mbin posts, but also posts from Mastodon with certain tags), and the communities on the topic-specific instances could become this hub for consolidation anyway.

Huh, that sounds like an interesting feature. Have you read @[email protected]'s article on community separation? This seems similar to their proposed "communities following communities" solution, though without the crucial "grouped comments section".

I removed the community. With no mod and no content there is no reason to keep it.

I think r/realtesla and r/teslamotors arose from an anti-tesla vs. tesla-fanboy divide on Reddit. I'm not really seeing the same sort of divide on Lemmy. Do you think there is still a need for two separate communities?

Would you be open to consolidating?

I'm interested in a consolidation but I feel like c/RealTesla still serves as a useful signpost from Reddit.

Due to the asshole moves from Elon Musk recently, the Reddit /r/RealTesla has seen incredible growth, to the point where I've been recalled to Reddit as a moderator.

From a Lemmy perspective, it makes sense to consolidate. But from an overall internet (ie: with Reddit perspective), the split is important as the Elon fanboys are still out there and more rabid than ever.

Honestly, with how open Elon is about being an asshole, there isn't much point to /r/RealTesla. When it began back in the 2010s, it was the only place where Elons douchbaggery could be discussed. Today, it's no longer a secret that Elon is a liar, conman, cheat, and asshole.

Thank you for chiming in

Glad to hear that you're open to consolidation! Do you think lemmy.zip would be a suitable? It's a stable and well-managed instance, and already has an active Tesla community.
