Summary

USAID Deputy Administrator Nick Enrich was placed on leave after memos criticized the agency’s leadership for obstructing humanitarian aid, warning the funding halt would cause "preventable death" and national security risks.

His memos detailed refusal to pay for goods and services rendered, shifting guidance, and terminations imposed by the Trump administration and DOGE, led by Elon Musk.

USAID, a key global aid agency, has faced mass layoffs and disruptions, affecting life-saving programs.

Amid backlash, Musk announced the restoration of some funding.

Man tells the truth and is summarily punished for it. Also:

Musk announced the restoration of some funding.

This is bullshit, just like when he said he restored the Ebola prevention team

How the fuck can Musk “restore” funding he shouldn’t have the power to remove in the first place?!?!

He's nurt muh presudent.

Neither I, nor any other Americans, voted for him. I hope this bullshit is referenced in the lawsuit alleging Musk is overstepping the authority of a mere presidential advisor - I know the courts move slow as shit and the Supreme Court is a bunch of asshats but it'd be good to see more of a show of the judiciary trying to push back.

Oh, what's this, an inconvenient truth? Can't have that...

To be fair, most of This administration actions will result in preventable deaths.

What could be more obvious? Of course cutting aid will lead to death. I'm certain it already has.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

Well, it already has...

Preventable deaths aren't just statistics; they're a moral failure on a global scale.

Preventable deaths are actually America's #1 export.
