Hello everyone,

Obligatory "I'm a recent Firefox refugee" header.

The migration went mostly fine, with one notable exception. I use LastPass as a password manager, so naturally I installed the extension. However, it does not show up in the address bar or in the overflow menu.

The autofill helper does show up on login forms, but clicking on the icon fails to open the LastPass login page. No errors except some cryptic stuff from a minified JS script.

I was surprised not to find anything about this online. Are there other LastPass users in here? What else can I do to help debugging?

LastPass is a fatal choice.

Nobody uses LastPass any more. It was hacked, it died and was hacked again. Now we stand around and poke it with a stick while laughing in Bitwarden.

I know you're not asking for alternatives, but really, I migrated from lastpass in an hour many years ago and never looked back.

Well, I was able to circumvent the problem by logging into LastPass directly from lastpass.com. It also logged me into the extension.

Still curious as to why the login workflow from the extension itself failed though.

Bitwarden is arguably a better choice, although the two options are generally so similar I wonder if they have a mutual owner.

Bitwarden is open source. You could host it yourself if you wanted. They've also been running a very strong "free forever" campaign directly in response to LastPass's enshitification and the security breach that came not long after. They claim their business model is all about enterprise security, so giving it away for free to individual users isn't an issue.

Oh, absolutely, but I'm not asking for LastPass alternatives here.

Isnt using Librewolf kinda pointless if youre installing proprietary software on it?

Oh, absolutely, but I'm not asking for LastPass alternatives here.

You don't want LastPass to work :D
