he's not "trying" to do anything, he does this shit all the time anyway. It was his entire schtick even before becoming a candidate in 2015 or whenever. If the Arlington thing happened last week you'd be saying the same thing about reposting the Taylor Swift AI images. This is just who he is, and 30-40% of the country (in key electoral college areas) are also childish bigots so it works for him.
He does this to get people to talk about him. He hates not being the topic of every conversation. He will do ANYTHING to become the most spoken about topic.
There are no depths he won't plunge to. I'm genuinely worried that at the debate, he will soil himself and start throwing it around while Kamala is talking.
The more he does these sort of basic misogynistic and racist attacks, the more people he turns off. Sure, just a few here and a few there, but everyone has their limits and he is reaching a lot of limits.
