Hot take: God loves us, but in the way we love plants. They don't give a shit about any of us individually, but they love us collectively
They watch us like an owner watches their cat prepare to jump up onto the bed... They don't really care of we succeed or fail, but they watch with interest. They cheer for us, but they'll chuckle if we fail and praise us if we make it

What you do when your plant is dying for basically no reason? Maybe you prune it, maybe you change your caretaking, maybe you just leave it to see if it can pull through before you turn it into fertilizer for the next plant
We love the plant, but we also want it to bear fruit. We're all just one plant in the garden, maybe we get pruned and watered, but the love is really for the garden, not exactly any given plant
We act like humanity is the only plant, but that's insane. A creator creates. A gardener gardens. A farmer farms. They want us to succeed, but it's crazy to think we would be an only child
