Switch to [email protected] for a more private open-source and prettier map experience.

I second Organic maps. When I map on openstreet maps I try to add info that directly improves data for organic maps.

Ads in the Apple Maps app would not be the traditional banner ads that you see on websites, but rather paid search results. For example, a fast food chain could pay Apple to appear near the top of the results when a user searches for "burgers" or "fries." Many similar apps already offer search ads, including Google Maps, Waze, and Yelp.

So pretty much what every other one is already doing. Sucks, but not as bad as banner ads as I thought.

I instinctively avoid the first results when using Google Maps already.

Apple does this and I’m cutting out the middle man and moving exclusively to OpenStreetMaps.

Openstreetmap is way better for updating information. The editing is way quicker and with less hassle. When I update my local area on Apple Maps, Apple often gaslights me about it after taking 3 weeks to review the changes.
