I don’t think Neville was trying to personally profit from the agreement.
The substantive difference is that the Czechoslovak territory that Chamberlain and Daladier "gave" to Germany was not already occupied. So to that extent 1938 was worse. But otherwise the comparison looks quite fair.
This is perfect. Can we just start calling him Neville from now on?
