Good thing these four cops are surrounding him in handcuffs. He's obviously making up a huge threat here. Sane and normal.

At least the lawyer is calling them out for being weird as fuck.

Does that not create a case for a prejudicial jury?

[–] danc4498@lemmy.world 20 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I don’t think the jury is there yet.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 7 points 1 year ago

If you were to please guilty, they wouldn’t even assemble a jury, right?

[–] Mog_fanatic@lemmy.world 41 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Lol it looks so strange. I don't think I've ever seen that before. Not that I watch a ton of court hearings but I feel like I've seen a good amount of accused murderers in court and don't remember cops all around them the whole time.

It's easy to see that protection of capital is the sole purpose of the system, because mob hitmen get treated like regular criminals but they're acting like Luigi is the fucking Joker.

They're reviving myths too. See what happens irl when a bold knight (allegedly) slays a dragon.

The way they looked at his beautiful face and had to restrain their hands and lust. Well all except the one guy who managed to pull back from giving him a shoulder masssage.

The 17th is his trial date.
A vastly more important day than yesterday's sports game.

[–] peoplebeproblems@midwest.social 60 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Not him.

If you watch the video of the shooting, you see the CEO just keel over. I didn't see nothing but that. I think he was faking

[–] Scubus@sh.itjust.works 14 points 1 year ago

Likely he forgot to take his money injection. I hear its badically a cureall.

[–] Quill7513@slrpnk.net 54 points 1 year ago (2 children)

he doesn't have the same eyebrows as the shooter

[–] Sammy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 60 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Luigi was at my birthday party that day. The shooter must be a different fella

[–] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 26 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That was an awesome party BTW, thanks for hosting. Luigi really rocked that karaoke cover of Rage's "How I Could Just Kill a Man".

[–] manefraim@lemm.ee 14 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I liked his rendition of Cypress Hill's Killing in the Name Of

[–] Thassodar@lemm.ee 9 points 1 year ago

His switch up with "CEO" on I Shot The Sheriff brought the whole place down!

Long live player 2.

Nullify!

The staged theatrics here are a masterclass in how justice gets smothered by political grandstanding. That perp walk wasn’t law enforcement—it was a propaganda reel for a mayor desperate to deflect from his own dumpster fires.

Defense counsel’s right: Mangione’s being used as a human prop in this narcissist theater. When elected officials start pre-trying cases on camera, the presumption of innocence becomes collateral damage.

Federal and state prosecutors playing jurisdictional ping-pong with a life? Classic systemic rot. But hey, at least the discovery demands a two-terabyte drive. Nothing unites bureaucracy like exponential data bloat.

Sorry, I was just born earlier this morning, catching up on backlog of emails and bookmarked posts... Is this Luigi guy convicted of more or less crimes than the sitting US president?

[–] LiamTheBox@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 year ago

Less than a school shooter

wish the judges audio was understandable. Its like hearing a one sided conversation.

[–] NostraDavid@programming.dev 13 points 1 year ago

Ah, this is a month old. I felt I've heard it before. Still good to rewatch though.

[–] OsrsNeedsF2P@lemmy.ml 13 points 1 year ago (2 children)

How is there only one thread about this :(

[–] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 year ago

Because it’s old news

[–] kn0wmad1c@programming.dev 3 points 1 year ago

Crosspost it

Can anyone make out the tats on that on cop?

[–] Jessica@discuss.tchncs.de 20 points 1 year ago

He appears to have sleeves that are of a religious nature and he has the Roman numerals for 13 on his left wrist. He also has some text on his left shoulder sneaking out under his sleeve.

His name is Nicholas A Manson and his badge number is 6995, which you can submit here: https://nypdonline.org/link/2 to get some more info on him.

Is it just me, or the mic in front of his face makes him look like having a Hitler mustache.

E.g 4 minutes in.
