I think it's perfectly reasonable to be horrified at things like OSHA going away with the current state of the U.S. federal govt.

And if anyone thinks safety people never hamstring operations over silly ideas of risk, or turn into little dictators feeding their egos, think again.

I think of them as an extension of HR. Their purpose is to protect companies.

Some of their more asinine findings are merely efforts to show they're being productive; companies expect returns in all things.

I remember seeing a video where somebody ran full speed into raised forks. They did NOT get up quickly. Imagine if the force was coming from the truck itself. It’d likely kill you
