Latro? What’s latro?
Etymology. Latin latron-, latro mercenary soldier, brigand; akin to Greek latron pay, hire.
It’s kinda like updog.
Most people pronounce it the later, LocalThunk pronounces it the former, but says either is fine by them.

The word balatro wasn't made up for this game -- it's a Latin term for "joker".
