It's true. I voted. Did all my fellow Americans also vote today or earlier?

[–] pinball_wizard@lemmy.zip 5 points 2 days ago

o7

Thank you.

[–] pinball_wizard@lemmy.zip 17 points 2 days ago (1 children)

lol. Thanks to a few pointed reminders right here on Lemmy, I got myself to the polls to cast my vote. Thanks y'all.

[–] daychilde@lemmy.world 16 points 2 days ago

Good job!

Unless you voted for fascists, in which case, fuck you. ;-)

[–] Cris_Color@lemmy.world 17 points 2 days ago (3 children)

I voted early.

I think electoralism is a tool with limitations but I also think we can't afford to use all available tools to protect people. Even if its just harm reduction, we have an obligation to the people whose heads are on the chopping block.

Protect your community. Go vote and then go get involved in organizing.

[–] daychilde@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

Exactly. Voting is a necessary part, but not the only part. :)

I went in person, armed as promised. Didn't expect any MAGA fuckery since this is a red county, but not taking chances.

Got it done and hated it as never before. I'm looking at my fellow citizens and thinking, "Are you enemy?" And I'm sure many thought this middle-aged white guy was MAGA. It's fucking awful that America is in such a place.

I also hate that I had to thoughtlessly vote straight D. At this point I wouldn't vote R for fucking dog catcher. Didn't vote on Florida Supreme Court Judges, voted for both half cent sales taxes, fucked up and didn't study the second proposition, voted for largely dropping property taxes, may regret that in the future.

Not as offtopic as it'll initially sound: Few years ago I found a greek fisherman's hat that came in several colours. I own nearly ten of them and most days I wear one. I have a red one. I'm careful when and where i wear it because I don't want MAGA assumptions.

MAGA has ruined patriotism, the flag, the color red. grrrr

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Won't wear or display an American flag in anyway except upside down. Only flags I got are Defend Equality pins.

Got a free Under Armour red hat, very nice, had my wife sell it at the flea market.

Bought a Same Shit Different Hat shirt, got two MAGA compliments, until they looked again, "Oh. uh..." Can't wear that now.

Voted last week, just got the email that my ballot has been reviewed and counted!

[–] Cris_Color@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago (2 children)

You get emails for that? Thats pretty neat

[–] cattywampas@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

Chicago Board of Elections doesn't mess around!

[–] xtr0n@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 days ago

We can sign up for email or text notification in Washington state

[–] xtr0n@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 days ago

Same. Used a ballot drop box since they’ve been fucking with the postal service.

Voted a couple weeks ago, with help from the guides on Vote From Abroad. Actually filled out my ballot back in September, but it took a while for my adhd brain to scan it with my voter id and email it in. I remembered to follow up with the board of elections to get confirmation my vote was counted thoughβ€” glad I did, I’d expect fuckery otherwise.

[–] farmgineer@nord.pub 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I voted a bit over a month ago (overseas voter).

[–] daychilde@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

Foreigner!!! :hisses:

;-)

[–] zoltanshields@lemmy.zip 5 points 2 days ago

I voted early but I lost my sticker :(

Yes. Most of my options were shit, but I did what I could anyway.

[–] pech@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

Dropped of my ballot for Abdul to the official drop box at city hall over the weekend.

I voted a couple of weeks ago. I happily voted a second time for my rep, Melanie Stansbury.

I've voted as far left as I could in every election since I was 18. That was 40+ years ago.

Twin voted early, me and husband voted today.

[–] Ravine@lemmus.org 4 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

Honestly wasn't going to. But I got an unsolicited text message telling me to vote no on 9 last week. So I voted yes on 9 today. (Fuck guns)

I voted. Really wish it wasn't for Hamilton, but if Marshall wins again I might drive off a cliff

[–] elephantium@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

My city had early voting available. I went on Sunday.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 4 points 2 days ago

I voted by mail 2 weeks ago.

[–] Buelldozer@lemmy.today 3 points 2 days ago

Wife and I voted!

[–] Hal@piefed.nz 3 points 2 days ago

I voted. Not from the US but that didn't stop me. Come at me ICE.

Technically both since I dropped off my mother's ballot today. She voted for the wrong things, but at least she didn't vote for republicans

I sent my ballot from outside the USA by UPS a couple of weeks ago. The local country registrar confirm that it was received.

[–] thagoat@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 days ago

Directly after work

[–] daychilde@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

Did all my fellow Americans also vote today or earlier?

Nope, they did not.

I did. I voted by mail.

[–] prplghsts@fedinsfw.app 2 points 2 days ago

Yep, turned in my ballot on Monday

[–] KaRunChiy@fedia.io 3 points 2 days ago

Voted, in style

I also did the thing

[–] DudeImMacGyver@kbin.earth 3 points 2 days ago

Fuck yeah, made sure my whole family voted

[–] mrmaplebar@fedia.io 3 points 2 days ago

I voted in Oregon by ballot-drop over a week ago! Now I'm just waiting anxiously to see what happens.
