"Established spice collection building", What? The only thing I can think of that would contribute to this is I got Orange Blossom water once, and canisters for loose tea. I haven't even gotten a coffee or spice grinder, not even a pepper mill.

[–] Quilotoa@lemmy.ca 1 points 12 minutes ago

Nothing under mine. There's a place where I can input that kind of information, but everything is empty. Maybe this is unique to US America?

[–] nerfarenablast@lemmy.zip 2 points 29 minutes ago

Huh, just a bunch of "Probably own.." and for some reason it thinks I own a Land Rover.. I do not own a Land Rover.. I didn't correct it.

We haven't saved anything yet. As you shop on Amazon or chat with Alexa, we'll save helpful information to personalize your experience.

Once we have saved some details, you can manage them here.

nice

[–] FrankFrankson@lemmy.world 1 points 3 minutes ago

Since I noticed alexa was mentioned here is the firefox addon that removes it from amazon: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adios-alexa/

[–] Warl0k3@lemmy.world 3 points 52 minutes ago

This is the only thing that isn't "likely interested in electronics [because I buy some niche parts off amazon]" or "likely uses [brand of phone I have occasionally bought screen protectors for]"

Aaaaaand it's wrong! So, a little disappointed there. Was hoping for something super judgemental. Man though, it'd be interesting to see what this service would make of my lemmy profile...

Doesn't enjoy shopping with: Amazon

[–] Zannsolo@lemmy.world 1 points 35 minutes ago

It knows the brand of shoes I buy from them, that I buy in bulk for consumables and that I have a dog.

[–] zod000@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 hour ago

I looked at mine, it didn't have anything insulting, but it had a lot of outdated stuff which makes sense as I cut my Amazon usage down to almost nothing since a couple of years ago.

[–] Zedd_Prophecy@lemmy.world 4 points 1 hour ago

Non issue. The crap I do buy there is defined perfectly. Nothing even remotely like my ass is flat. Sigh

[–] answersplease77@lemmy.world 3 points 2 hours ago

damn... they said I'm a virign with small dick. very insulting

[–] Impractical_Island@lemmy.world 0 points 41 minutes ago

Mine said I'm a pedophile. I'm very insulted. That's not the right word. I just look at all the feet products! Toe creases are the meaning of life, ok!

[–] Neverclear@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 3 hours ago

"Invests in waterproof bed protection"

adds "Successful Investor" to resumé

[–] SpikedIguana@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 hours ago

Weighs 398 lbs, that's all they got and it's wrong

[–] FRYD@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Mine just says I like analog and vintage photography stuff and lacy and shiny clothes. Neither of which are very shocking.

[–] modus@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago* (last edited 3 hours ago)

Yeah, mine was just wrong. It says "likely lives in name of vacation spot," even though I went there just twice this year and had some stuff shipped. The rest of the site knows my actual address but this "about me" section doesn't.

[–] ArmchairAce1944@discuss.online 3 points 4 hours ago (2 children)

Where is this fucking page? I want to know where!

[–] modus@lemmy.world 6 points 3 hours ago

You could try reading the article.

[–] gwl@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Looks to be not a thing in EU, can't find the UI for it

[–] BroccoLemuria@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago

I found it in the location the article said. I had to enter from the browser in "desktop mode" with my phone, but the section was empty

[–] ragebutt@lemmy.dbzer0.com 15 points 11 hours ago

This should shock no one and if anything the shocking thing is transparency (though that is likely a ploy as I guarantee based on these articles plenty of people will go view it to correct the record, giving Amazon a great source of refinement for ad tracking)

Literally every major website (and basically every website that run JavaScript for that matter) tracks and profiles you. Your tv does the same, as does your phone and almost all the apps on it, etc. and the profiling they don’t show you definitely exists: race, political affiliation/leaning, income estimates, address, educational level, health issues, etc

[–] wittymcusername@lemmy.zip 9 points 11 hours ago (2 children)

I was sort of unimpressed with mine. It was all variations of:

-Likely lives in

-Likely owns

And then for some reason it thinks I own a Dodge Ram. I have four vehicles saved to my account. None of them are a Dodge Ram.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 0 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

I'm curious why you'd have four vehicles saved to an Amazon account? Like... For what reason?

[–] Zannsolo@lemmy.world 2 points 32 minutes ago (1 children)

Will show you compatible parts

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 22 minutes ago
[–] ArmchairAce1944@discuss.online 1 points 4 hours ago

Where did you find it?

[–] Jeffool@lemmy.world 5 points 11 hours ago

If this is as good as they get, they should be embarrassed about how much money they've spent on this stuff. Oh, I prefer the brand of product that I bought multiple times? Shocking!

I'm not surprised though. I bought a microwave through Amazon about a year ago. They showed me other microwaves for like a month after. So dumb.

[–] the_armchair_potato@lemmy.world 15 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

There is no "about you" option on the Canadian version 🤔

[–] gwl@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 8 hours ago

Yeah I think maybe USA only?

[–] crystalmathadept@lemmy.zip 3 points 12 hours ago

I use Amazon solely for ahem adult items. This will be interesting.

[–] M137@lemmy.today 8 points 15 hours ago

Was always glad to have never been an Amazon customer, even more so now.

Jeff Bezos hosted Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell to his private, invitation-only, weekend at a resort he rented out. Bezos had many close ties to Epstein. Bezos also had numerous private dinners with Epstein.

The photo is from a party where Ghislaine Maxwell hobnobbed with him but make no mistake they were close friends.

Make sure to add this note to your files about Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon.

[–] llama@lemmy.zip 9 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

I was surprised how ordinary mine was. Things like buys mens clothing, does home improvement projects, maintains automobile, prefers high quality products.

[–] JigglySackles@lemmy.world 8 points 15 hours ago

Yeah, mine was what anyone could glean looking at my purchase history.

[–] LSTNYER@lemmy.sdf.org 4 points 14 hours ago

Mine says I like Star Wars and photography. So yes, I too have no friends.

[–] AnotherWastedHuman@retrolemmy.com 11 points 19 hours ago (3 children)

Maintains personal grooming routines

OMG, how embarrassing!
