It's not even superstars, basically every artist that's released any amount of music and is popular enough to tour internationally gets the same issue

You're intentionally misrepresenting the situation so it fits your narrative.

Alexisonfire - average monthly streamers 1 million. Sold out instantly cause bots.

And you think it's good that bots can automatically buy every single ticket, only to resell it at extortionate prices?

Wow, that's a ass-backwards view if I ever saw one

I'm complaining that resale is exploitative, and that's very much intentionally a thing the market encourages

And what about the fact that often, tickets are for only bought by resellers, who then markup the price by 200% - 1000%

I've seen some gigs where they sold out seconds after being put up, all bought in milliseconds by automatic bots, and then every single ticket was resold by the same bots for stupid profits

I think you're living in a fantasy land

Ah yeah, and that's why the ticket I bought for £20 resold for £200

Don't be a bleeding idiot

[–] gwl@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 days ago (5 children)

Hahaha, no

The artist doesn't get any say in it, and the promotor is only able to suggest pricing but can't enforce it

Correction to title:

People are playing less slop games, and new slop releases are "struggling", says slop-peddler Ubisoft UK, whilst peeing their pants

Games are just as popular as ever, if anything the market has widened significantly, people are just more savvy now too

No longer willing to slap down £50 on Day Zero for a game that they've not seen any reviews for and/or not seen any gameplay footage for.

As well as Indie Studios having a renaissance after their struggle era.

Tbh, I don't think it needs it, it's the meta discussion for issues with the server on the support level

Tbh I didn't find this when I made my community, which I'm thinking I'll probably delete now that I know here exists

David Tomlinson is a actor that Disney used from 1970-1990 as basically every time they needed "affable British man", and he's been the male lead in many Disney live action films from the era

Could it be possible to theorycraft it that George Banks, Philip Rowe, Mr. Browne etc are actually all the same guy

Mr Browne is a conman after all, who might have done identity theft

I'm still liking frontend JavaScript, but I am getting real tired of the ReactJS ecosystem, however I don't have the slightest idea how to get a job that's using a newer one such as Vue or Svelte

It does feel like once you've done the same framework for a while you get seen as FRAMEWORK dev instead of LANGUAGE dev

Any protips? This is kinda half a rant too
