Dorka is an outdated slang word for a dumbass in Finnish lol.
A word I haven't heard in at least a decade.

Dorka is an outdated slang word for a dumbass in Finnish lol.
A word I haven't heard in at least a decade.
That was the closest english-ish translation I could come up with for what we actually call it in this Norwegian household: Pasta la Dusta.
And dust is also an old slang for dumbass. Full circle.
To complete the full circle around the Nordics, I'll mention that "dorka" comes from the Swedish word "dåre", which translates to "fool" or "lunatic".
Dåre is used in Norwegian too, but not by anyone under 70, I think. Only time I remember encountering that word was through ancient litteraturen in school some time in the previous century
Not where I expected to expand my Norwegian vocabulary, but I'm here for it. Takk!
Looks pretty tasty
I used to make a lot of tomato sauce for the winter when the kids were still at home. Many quarts. These days with just me and Grandma around I freeze my tomatoes, because it's fast and easy, and use a quick fresh tomato sauce recipe these days.
pasta sauce
corn
Jail. Right to jail.
I'm putting some into some coconut curry tomorrow :)
Nah, I bet it's good.
And no 200 dollars either!
The horror of it all!
Why is there corn in it
Why not? Corn is good.
Hot sauce is good. Handjobs are good. Hot sauce handjobs are not good.
That's a dumb comparison and you know it.
Not as dumb as putting corn in pasta sauce.
Leftover from yesterday. Normally I wouldn't add it.
Damn it, I hate that I’m old to enough for this to be an acceptable justification for corn in a pasta sauce.
You win, Good Sir
Might wanna hit it with an immersion blender to make the corn smaller
But why would you ever add it
+1 for using up leftovers
-1 for putting corn in pasta sauce
My exact thought
The corn being controversial puts this at risk of not being dull
Corntroversial
I started buying jars of Jasmine brand tomato paste. It was like $4.99 a jar and you can get 4-5 spaghetti sauce meals from it or about 10 curry dishes that are tomato based. Its super super rich and concentrated with a sweet taste.(ripe tomatoes).
Just add water and spices and it tastes better than any canned sauce I was buying.
Y'all never had succotash? It's most often corn, tomatoes, and okra in my area. While I wouldn't put it over pasta because the noodles would be in the way, a lot of folks serve it with rice, and that isn't such a huge difference.
Rice pasta?
Rasta?
C-C-C-C-CARB OVERLOAD!!!!
I don't know how to feel about this. I'll just have to try it for myself.
I like the corn idea, pasta sauce requires sugar to cut the bitterness of cooked tomato's. Corn can add sweetness without needing extra sugar.
Cooked tomatoes aren't the hell bitter nor does pasta sauce need any sugar. I mean: to each their own, and I like that he used leftovers - but "needed" it is not.
I just use tomato paste from ripe tomatoes, it's sweet so we have to salt it
