very informative, i had only a vague idea about all the weird eugenics connections, but it's a bit shocking that it apparently goes back all the way to the "founding" of silicon valley.

the usage of "ai" generated footage leaves a bitter aftertaste though. i sort of get it's used deliberately to illustrate the weirdness and sloppiness of the whole thing. but i still find it odd for a project to clearly show the myriad ways of how ai is bad, only to use it themselves. not a choice i would have made.

Every little new thing I learn about AI always makes it worse. Very informative, but wow.

if you're in the US and have too much time on your hands, the comments on this one need attention, cos PBS leave comments on then just don't moderate them.

please do stop by in "new comments" mode and upvote the good top-level comments, downvote the bad, and report the racists and straight up Nazis.

the upvotes/downvotes determine the default "Top comments" view, and it takes multiple reports for any given racist

This isn't the Ghost in the Machine I was thinking of when seeing the title of the post.
