Specifically not looking for noun memorization tools, but more immersive adventure games where you can take your time understanding what's said.

Another thought, this Game Gengo video came to mind: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_QrcROWKmA (You can skip to the end to see the recs in tier list form, or visit this link to see a bunch of games on various platforms in a spreadsheet.)

It's aimed specifically at learning Japanese, but a lot of the recs probably apply to many languages. And it's a little cheesy. Generally tho, he's going through and evaluating/recommending a bunch of games based on (Japanese) language support features.

In short, his biggest favorites from the linked video are:

Voice of Cards (oddball - I think he just likes it, but could be an ad thing?)

Would love to hear more focused suggestions tho, there's a lot of junk out there.

Skyrim has a very wonderful voice acting cast in multiple languages. It's how went from not understanding German to understanding German.

100% recommend Skyrim. I think Cyberpunk also has full audio translations too, though I've yet to play it in anything but English.

Great call, I'll have to try that! I'd like to revisit it sometime anyway.

Checked Oblivion hoping for the same, but seems like language options were pretty limited unfortunately.

You're probably best off searching for your language, then seeing if subtitles are available, then seeing if scenes can be replayed. If it has all three, it's a good primary source.

Not sure if you include typing as part of language learning, but I really enjoyed Epistory: Typing Chronicles. It won't actually teach you English, but it will train you to type faster.

Not an adventure game, but it is a steam game to help with language learning. It is more in the pocket of memorization tho. Still, could be helpful to others trying to gameify their learning.
