High precision, low accuracy. The stormtrooper way.

I built a chicken fence this way.

Hammer staplers are glorious but fucking difficult to get right!

Whack whack whack whack fuck!!!!!!! Hit the fucking wire whack whack whack whack goddamnit whack whack whack

To be entirely fair though I fucking love my hammer stapler and my complaints are entirely user error because hammer staplers are fucking amazing. So much better than hand-grip-activated staple guns.

I’ve used tack nailers as well and they also rock the socks off. Any pneumatic or mecnical driven device, oh boy fun!

I have one of the Powershot hand staple guns where the handle actuates at the front, so you're pushing down where the staple comes out instead of at the opposite end and it's the best damn stapler ever.

I don't know why it's not a more common thing.

This is why my couch broke after less than 6 months. There were, like, a hundred staples definitely not in the right place.

Ashley furniture?

The inspector allows a certain amount of misses

I have much worse in one spot (that I can see) in my garage. No telling how bad it gets inside the walls. About halfway down from the top the staples appear and veer off in a curve to the bottom at which point they're a good five inches off the target. It's pretty funny.

Also, just so everyone knows, those staples hold extremely well. They have an adhesive on them. They hold better than nails.

[–] anon_8675309@lemmy.world 8 points 13 hours ago

But do they allow all the misses for one whole structure to be on one fucking board?

[–] tyler@programming.dev 3 points 13 hours ago

Nails have adhesive as well.

Uh.. Shouldn't you be using a 2*4 at a minimum, and not just a plank of wood?

[–] kn33@lemmy.world 18 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

That is a 2x4, it's just that the edge is fucked.

[–] BeelzebubEiNukuKoskaan@piefed.social 8 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

I guess the perspective is messing with my eyes and brain. The one to the right looks like a 2*4, the one in the middle doesnt. Maybe I need to go get my eyes checked.

Or brain.

[–] Eq0@literature.cafe 2 points 5 hours ago

I agree that the middle one looks thinner

[–] kn33@lemmy.world 7 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Oooh yeah. Edge is still fucked, though

[–] turtlesareneat@piefed.ca 3 points 11 hours ago

Even better than an orange logo for telling you it came from Home Depot

[–] over_clox@lemmy.world 3 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

What the fuck is a 2x4, and why is it only 1.5" x 3.5" ?

[–] erusuoyera@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 hour ago

It's a piece of wood that measures 45mm x 95mm.

[–] Brkdncr@lemmy.world 5 points 15 hours ago

.5”-2” x 4”

Isnt the bolt in the footer supposed to have a washer?

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 1 points 14 hours ago

And, a nut too, would be good.

Looks like new construction and they just haven't gotten around to putting the nuts and washers on yet. Houses get inspected for this and many other things before the drywall goes up.
