Stopping all fediverse activities. Good bye. Absolutely stupid indisriminate bans by mods on various instances make it clear to me lemmy and fediverse does not want content.
if I ever get back to fediverse It would be on my own instance as its clear to me nothing short of that is going to work.

Makes sense. How else can they afford rent in NYC while working in a coffee shop?

[–] ElChinchilla@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

I've been able to succinctly summarize my disillusion with life as a young person using Friends and HIMYM as the lens of expectation. I longed for an abstract which was not available or possible, and I didnt know how to explain it to anyone until I had that aha moment.

Not them affording those apartments?

[–] feddylemmy@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago

To be fair this was addressed in friends. If I recall correctly, the apartment was her grandma's and rent controlled but she died and it became hers but the renters weren't aware so she had a crazy good rent controlled apt.

Housing in shows always bothers me.

Didn't they live next to each other or something?

Wasn't he across the street though?

[–] Uruanna@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

He moves halfway through the show. I don't recall anything about how far his place in the first half is.

[–] webhead@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Touche he does move a few times. It's absurd either way tho lol. No one does anything in the morning before work like what lol.

[–] vrek@programming.dev 22 points 2 days ago

True, and we all agree he should just eat all the smaller friends

canned laughter

[–] blazeknave@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Is it an inside joke or just we're all old?

[–] Dadifer@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago (3 children)

That's pretty much the biggest joke of the show.

[–] Fredselfish@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago

I hated the Ross/Rachel drama. Ross character could have been removed and show probably be funnier. But yes they were on break holyshit they used that line to goddamn much.

[–] some_kind_of_guy@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

What's the joke? I swear I didn't see one here

Ross has sex with someone when he was "on a break" with Rachel, and they bring it up for like 6 seasons.

In fact those pictured were really good friends, and even got their own tv documentary showing their everyday life.

[–] tazeycrazy@feddit.uk 2 points 1 day ago

What's this show called? Sounds intriguing.

I did this before school at least. It’s how I read Giant-Size X-Men and the SAS Survival Handbook and watched Mad Max and Blade Runner for the first time.
