I actually think this is funny. And alarming, but not the way I hear people talk about this. CoMaps is Apple/Google app store, open source, privacy centric Map app with turn by turn, lots of customization, and also has desktop clients for Linux and iOS.
I switched this when Apple announced ads were coming to maps and have been very happy, some places don’t exist but with an OSM account you can contribute to a better map which is nice
