Opened up the page and saw "A Wisconsin man..." and was like God-dammit.... does it have to be Wisconsin?

Were either of those possessions illegal?

Am I the only one that isn’t quite understanding how parts of the brain of John Wayne Gacy were obtained? The article just acts like it’s so easy to obtain all this shit.

ebay!

but yeah, that's.... an odd way to state they had brain parts, if it's not literally Gacy's.....

I'm going to assume it's not actually Gacy's, and hope that it's not human.

a jar with a label indicating it contained a piece of John Wayne Gacy’s brain

I'll sell the author a shoebox labeled "hope diamond" for $25k....

Seriously, nobody told me I could make bank on misrepresented pig brains.

Here's another thing you probably don't know. You can go take a bath, and then at the end of the bath don't drain the water. Instead, put the water into about 5000 small glass jars. Now set up an AI thing where you can create a consistent supply of pictures of the same AI model. Dress her like a stereotypical incel's idea of what a gamer girl looks like. Now sell the 5000 jars for $100 each as "Gamer Girl bath water". Except find a new name, because (and I'm not making this up), that name for that product is already trademarked and made 1 woman named Belle Delphine into a millionaire doing basically nothing.

They've been doing it a very long time.

The sheriff’s office said the forensic anthropologist’s initial physical examination determined that many of the remains are likely ancient Native American in origin; however, several of the skeletal remains require specialized forensic testing at a laboratory to determine their origin.

Whew, close one. For a few scary moments I thought this might be some kind of sick white people skulls collector.

I think the idea they're trying to get across is that he didn't kill these people. They were dead for close to 2 centuries before he started treating their remains like a funko-pop collection.

Still gross that he's collecting them at all, but I think the idea is to offer relief for those close to him that he wasn't actively killing.

In a padlocked bedroom in the basement, officers found a lifelike silicone doll on a bed beneath a blanket, with a painting of a naked female resembling the victim hanging above it.

RIP to the lab tech tasked with getting DNA off that doll.

Larson claimed his communication was civil and argued that licensing board complaints were suggested by his therapist to get the victim to respond.

DOUBT.

Quite possible. Licensed individuals would be counselors, psychologists, psychiatrists, etc. AFAIK, there is no license or standard that legally defines the term; anyone can call themselves a "therapist".

Not that hard, just break off a crusticle with a pair of tweezers

The story is somehow even weirder than the headline.

This guy will immediately go off his meds post release

[–] SPRUNTnsfw@fedinsfw.app 13 points 1 day ago

I didn't read the article.... What police department did he work for?

[–] Rhoeri@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

That dude needs to be in prison for life.
