I could never tell if it tasted like soap, or if that's just how it's supposed to taste and I'm just not a huge fan. Either way, it wasn't bad enough for me to bother avoiding it, and at this point I'm coming around.

When i was a kid it tasted like soap, but by the time i was a teenager it tasted like a delicious herb.
Me and some of my siblings loved it growing up, while my mom and the other siblings hated it (big family). Many years later when talking about it we found out it was a 60/40 split in the family for not having/having the cilantro=soap gene.
Cilantro belongs on almost anything. Those who disagree can eat soap.
