Well I knew the second part. I also knew that deer rely on scent far more than vision to spot predators. What I didn't know is why hunting laws specifically call for the use of blaze orange (also fluorescent pink). Not the caution yellow or that greenish yellow you see a lot in construction and high visibility garments, but specially blaze orange. It makes perfect sense if the orange still works as camo from the deer, but is extra visible to other hunters. That's like a best case scenario color.

The real question is what color they see themselves as. “I’m bright orange and they still can’t see me? The fuck?” Or “I’m green and should blend in perfectly, but that human is looking right at me!”

It's quite common in it's mild forms. I never noticed it till after shop-class when I was really good with the theoretical aspects of electric circuits, but on the practical pieces I always put in the wrong resistors ... because they were colour coded with shades of green/red/brown that kind of look the same for me. I even argued with my teacher that I did in fact put in the correct resistors, but he won because it actually wasn't working ...
Only a few years later when doing a vision exam during mandatory conscription that they just blatantly asked me if I was colourblind ... and at first I was like .. "no?". But they said that results said I was ... and suddenly shop class made sense ...

The tiger no. But put that same hue of orange next to some greenery without any context and it might.
The brain is really good at compensating for colourblindness. You could probably paint a tiger green and I'd tell you it's orange because I know tigers are supposed to be orange.

But to normal people the tiger stands out as being a MASSIVELY different color from greenery. Like really, really, different.

In humans, effectively no. Anyone claiming to be a "tetrachromat" is really trying to say they're half-colorblind, that they have some normal and some mutated green cones. If they do, the mutated green cones basically don't work.
Mantis shrimp have 12 different types of cone cells to our 3. Now, some people want to think that they either see a wider rainbow, or have significantly greater resolution or depth of color perception than we do. The former is kind of true, the latter very much isn't. Humans have VERY sophisticated brains, we use more brain matter than the mantis shrimp's entire mass to process vision. We do all kinds of Nvidia branded shit to turn the three color signals from our eyes into the full spectrum of colors we perceive. Meanwhile, the mantis shrimp sees in EGA. They see 12 colors...only, and at a much lower resolution than we do with their compound eyes.

I've seen it said that they gain in vision speed by saving on the complexity. Conversely, we don't properly see a baseball flying at us, but have machinery predicting its trajectory so the brain fills in the gaps.

Seems to depend on the species but humans see from about 390 to 700nm, mantis shrimp apparently see about 300 to 720. So they can detect into the infrared and a little into the ultraviolet, and then ten or so steps in between.

My cat eats grass because she likes a salad before dinner, I think.
Anyway, I know she prefers real grass (it's maybe crabgrass, I think? It crops up unasked-for in my balcony plant pots) over "cat grass" (oat/wheat/rye from seeds) growing in the kitchen window, but will eat both.
And it doesn't make her vomit, it just helps her poop.
