I knew he worked on the Epic Mickey games for Disney (and I forget what publisher — EA?) but I'm pretty sure he wasn't involved with Deus Ex after the first or maybe second one. And honestly, though the first will always be a classic and my personal favourite of the franchise, Human Revolution did almost everything better (for being 11 years newer, it should have). Then of course Cyberpunk 2077 topped both of them — another 9 years later. So it's nice to see the ball Spector started rolling in 2000 is still going strong (and he may not have even started the trend, I'm really not sure).
I still mistrust the original team because they never gave Invisible War a proper release on modern equipment. So the original Deus Ex was made for PC, but it was too powerful for consoles. So, they made a stripped-down version called Deus Ex: The Conspiracy for PS2. It sucked. So, when the OG Xbox came out, they made Invisible War based around the limitations of that console. To this day, it still has those limitations. Small areas (like DX:TC) and hard coded 30 second load screens every couple minutes or so. The game has no excuse to suck that hard, but it does. Aside from its technical issues, I will stand on the opinion that Invisible War was almost as good as the original. It was just held back by the OG Xbox. I'd love to see it get a modern remake, along with the original. I'm sure there was deleted content as well. But they need to hire Yukichigai. I still remember that dude's name. He made a mod for the original called Shifter. It restored some deleted content. It fixed some bugs. And it added special, named versions of each and every weapon to the game and stashed them all around. They had better stats, but still took the same upgrade kits as the base model, which meant they topped out better. For example, I know the handgun ("Magnum") is on the headboard on the bed in Lebedev's jet. Since your office is persistent storage with the mod, I'd dump weapon mods there until you get the special version. It would suck to get a new Deus Ex 1 but Shifter isn't part of it. I know, I know. "What a shame."
