Well, it would make sense with how much computer sales have slowed down, lower volume needs a higher price for returns
the articles says PCB are set to rise 50% but the post title says mobo prices are going to rise 50%-- which is it? those are vastly different things
it appears to be both.
According to the report, prices for PCBs used in consumer motherboards are expected to rise by at least 50% during 2026. Costs for copper, surface-mount capacitors, power components and supporting controller chips have also increased.
Isn't a motherboard just a large PCB with sockets?
maybe i'm getting my terminology bass ackwards, but i thought PCB meant just the platform with connections between contact points, hence printed circuit board, while a motherboard is a PCB with all the components, integrated shit (BIOS, onboard graphics/audio, wifi, etc.) soldered on and ready to build
It's a situation where all MOBOs are PCBs, but not all PCBs are MOBOs.
