I forgot about this.
This makes me mad because I have a friend who has worked on Star Wars Zero Company, and that game looks cool. But then the dilemma of giving this company money to support my friend where some of that ends up in EA’s pocket…
Maybe I should give him $20 for the effort.
I have friends who work for Ubisoft, and I'm not spending any of my money on their games. It's not like the few pennies my purchase would contribute to their paycheck really matters.
Hell, if it's about supporting your mate specifically, give them the money directly and pirate the game you want. More chance they'll see so much as a dime for it.
Or pirate and invite them to a gaming session with beer and wine and food and... dunno, I'd enjoy puppies.
Depends on the game, but not a bad suggestion either. Mostly comes down to whether they can afford the rent on their salary this month.
Buying the game and making it successful, wpuld get him fired not paid better, like any other dev team that recently dropped banger games.
Every time a good game comes out, and it sells well, the dev team is laid off.
The sims community took the initial announcement and did some organizing around it. I haven't launched the game since. They've been doing freebies and giveaways to try and win people back and get them to play, and all I can think of is how the new owners imprison and beat their own family members. Not that EA was a great company to begin with, but this is just really sad to hear. At least it got me playing some of my backlog instead of their stuff.
I'm so mad about it. I've been playing Sims since it first came out. I'm embarrassed to admit how much money I put into that game. As soon as the announcement that there was going to be a buy out, I stopped all purchases. But Iove the game. And I spent so much money on it. I'll probably continue to play what I have. 🫤
That being said, I did buy Paralives and while it's not the same feels as Sims, it's close. I just need a better computer to play.
Sadly my offer of $100 for the NoX property was declined.
Apex is one of the few FPS I can get into these days. Didn't like when they banned Linux, hackers are still everywhere. Any decent alternatives? Anyone tried r5?
Well there goes my plans on playing any new mass effect game
Archetype Studios, which is comprised of some of the Ex-Bioware developers that worked on Mass Effect are making the game "Exodus" coming out next year. I will pick that up and support a smaller studio instead. It might be a little rough around the edges since they don't have EA resources but it still seems to be sticking to the spirit of what made Mass Effect so good.
