It is an achievement for a video games company to play in the league of worst companies when the competition are AI grifters, arms producers and legal opioid producers. Finally there is an ownership structure to match.
Good thing EA doesn't make games anymore.
I've haven't bought an ea game since battlefield 1.
I had to check, the last EA game I paid for was Mass Effect Legendary Edition in 2021. It will likely also be the last simply because they won't be releasing anything I want to play.
Let me just add that to the pile of reasons to hate on EA. Yeah... The pile is pretty big, EA has been hateable for quite a long time.
I guess EA can get worse. Huh.

Where is the bottom? How the fuck did EA get worse? This some dark magic, devide by zero, end of days level shift.
The bottom comes when the sports game addicts run out of money and stop buying the same $70-$80 games every year before unloading hundreds into paid DLC that is non-transferable between the yearly versions (which have almost zero practical changes aside from roster updates and in-game ads/branding).
But a few decades have proven they are quite a resilient cohort and tough to crack.

Yeah they got some good deals on NFS franchise, but then I though "wait this guys are absolute trash, I need an external client and game might not be even that good".

A sad day for Mass Effect. To think that, if the next installment is great, money goes to the butcher prince and nepotism incarnate. I really hope Kushner gets tried and convicted as as a traitor.
If the next instalment is great then I'll just say ahoy to many sails on the high seas.
I guess that is the only ethical way of consumption.
+1 to the dark horses inside EA who saw this coming and open sourced some of their classics before this, so the robber barrons couldn’t gate keep them.
Man I wish they open sourced some more stuff, like their older NFS games...
But no joke, EA's open source stuff is really nice and one of the few genuinely good things about them. EASTL and related stuff is genuinely useful for game developers.

They released the source code for many Command & Conquer games.
...as if I needed another reason to continue to boycott EA.
I will continue not buying EA games. It's a shame they have some interesting franchises inside their corpse pile, but there's always other games and entertainments.

No problem. Apart from WRC, I haven't touched an EA game in a long time, mainly because I just assume they're shit and don't even try. I really don't have any reason to think of them when browsing games.
At least they helped me out and made the decision to not support them in the case with Battlefield 6 and the new WRC by banning Linux 🤷
Oh, didn't know they did that with the new WRC. Which doesn't matter anyway because AC Rally 🤣
Yeah, they killed support with introducing kernel level anti-cheat a couple of months after it was released. Really scummy move. I'm also really excited by the rally development in beam.ng :D
Yeah, that looks really fun. Doing proper full rally. I can't wait to rock up to the next stage having to explain to the crew that I crashed on the way 🤣
They have been making shitty sports games on monopolized licences for too long, and sports fans just keep buying the same shit over and over.
Whenever i notice that an interesting game is published by EA i immediately lose all interest in it
