Sex work is real work, even if it's just the Patreon accounts of Hyperfuta Orgy Overwatch x BG3 artists. You should support it.

If you have enough money, please support amateur/indie sex workers

The whole reason I have a patron account is to support my favorite porn game developers.

your favorite artist is not a corporation. support them.

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 5 points 2 weeks ago

No artist worth the name hates more people appreciating their work

[–] Ophrys@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 weeks ago

Patreon is a corporation, don't support them

Patreon doesn't really allow (much) porn.

But yeah, the statement also applies to sex performers and artists on OnlyFans, Fansly, Fanvue, et al.

Tbh, I don't have an issue with people only offering their porn through sites like OF. They're (mostly) just regular people who are making something that people want, while taking all the social risk associated with making porn. Only offering their work through that platform gives them some level of agency. It's only fair that people pay for that stuff, I think.

Pirate shit from the big studios all you like though. Fuck 'em.

They're about to update the platform to make it easier for porn profiles to function. Currently you have to use a third party video platform like vimeo (which you have to pay for if you want any privacy) to upload videos on 18+ accounts , but they're about to start allowing direct uploads. This will be a game changer, especially bc only fans has a lot of intense rules about what kind of content you're even allowed to talk about, whereas it's much easier to safely sell used panties or subscription goodie boxes on patreon. Way safer and easier to have anonymity from customers.

Never paid for porn. There's always been plenty online for free.

I guess if you're into some niche that isn't really represented, or, someone mentioned porn games. But if you just wanna watch other humans have sex or jerk/rub, plenty will let you see that for free. Never understood paying for the basic stuff.

The 2000s were great, college students (19-23 years old) with camcorders just filming random wild hookups and sharing it online. It was never a business, it was "just because," I guess.

I suppose if you pay for it, you get a kind of guarantee the people involved are of legal age. For my above example, for all we knew it could have been high school students as well. You can't really tell from a video. And don't tell me, "if they shave down there and the girls have small breasts, they're probably underage." Look at 90% of what porn comms on fedinsfw post. It's almost all fauxbait. That's nothing new. It's just that there are a lot of fauxbait sites that are 100% legal, like MetArt (IIRC). So you know if you see that white banner at the bottom with the black text, it's probably on the up and up... but anyone can put that there. You really don't know. You just act in good faith and hope it's enough. I don't see how paying is any better, though I suppose it's a step in the right direction. Still, my funds are limited and I'm not gonna eat less to pay for something I can get for free. You can't make that make sense. Especially in the piracy comm on dbzer0.

If they didnt want you to pirate it they wouldnt have put it on patreon.

Out of curiosity, is this for some sort of animated porn, or do we consider people who fuck artists now?

[–] southsamurai@sh.itjust.works 15 points 2 weeks ago

If you're having sex and it isn't an art, you're doing it wrong

[–] marxismtomorrow@lemmy.today 12 points 2 weeks ago

Anyone can have sex. Well maybe you're the exception. But actual sex workers perform, and that is art.

[–] Luminous5481@anarchist.nexus 11 points 2 weeks ago

This might come as a surprise, but sex can be more entertaining than the grunting and fumbling around with your hand you do alone at night.

[–] fibojoly@sh.itjust.works 6 points 2 weeks ago

They are pro athletes, at the very least.

[–] k0e3@lemmy.ca 5 points 2 weeks ago

You don't get an art-on when you have sex?
