The person I just showed this to: "well why don't they just get a box like that guy"

MOTHERFUCKER WHERE DO YOU SEE ANOTHER BOX LIKE THAT? THEY'RE WORKING WITH ENTIRELY DIFFERENT TOOLS!!!!

[–] cecinestpasunecommunication@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

That's a beautiful response they had.

Sometimes I think those assholes aren't really bad at creativity or imagining a better world, they just built it this way on purpose and don't want to change, because they are the devil and like living in hell.

[–] smh@slrpnk.net 5 points 5 days ago

Why don't they just take the box from that guy, plus keep that orange flat piece? Then they could be even taller!

Privilege, nepotism, sexism, this is a great analogy for a lot of different things.

[–] definitemaybe@lemmy.ca 5 points 5 days ago

Exactly. Applicable to all layers of privilege.

Going to link this when someone asks me why it takes 30 minutes to write a commit message.

[–] applebusch@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 5 days ago (1 children)

mine all end up "did the thing", "minor changes in x", "added y", "bug fixes", "stuff", "more stuff" etc. no one is reading the commit message anyway. all the details end up in the merge request and the commits get squashed at the end.

[–] grrgyle@slrpnk.net 6 points 5 days ago

You're missing out on one of the greatest joys in work. Writing the commit message is the reward for doing all the work.

[–] vivalapivo@lemmy.today 29 points 5 days ago

Indeed. Why would anyone struggle willingly? Just do as everyone else and do not stand out \s

[–] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 3 points 4 days ago

Both need to stand on the floor and stop being so tryhard. Part of being ND is seeing when things people just accept are actually bollocks.

[–] MrSusan@lemmy.world 8 points 5 days ago

I know this is entirely missing the point but that guy is doing a terrible job of building a stand with those blokes
