For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

We allowed it, so to complain is only an indictment against ourselves.

It's so sad and strange to me that Elon still doesn't understand why people don't like him. Also, he doesn't understand that people don't have to like him either.

[–] CaptPretentious@lemmy.world 1 points 25 minutes ago (1 children)

I don't wonder if it's because he's bought and paid for so many "yes-men" around him, surrounded by sycophants when he sees people talk poorly about him, it just doesn't line up with his day to day world view he bought. I doubt a single engineer who works for him has ever told him no, or that what he's doing is dumb.

[–] BradleyUffner@lemmy.world 2 points 23 minutes ago

He understands perfectly. He just likes playing the poor oppressed white guy.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 9 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

They call you a Nazi, because you're a Nazi. The murder part is just a bonus.

[–] MBech@feddit.dk 1 points 1 hour ago

The murder part is also just because he's a nazi.

[–] dunestorm@lemmy.world 0 points 40 minutes ago

Elon Musk - Biggest loser of all time. Donnie being runner up to having the smallest 🍆 in the US.

[–] Tattorack@lemmy.world 18 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Long before the Nazi salut... Uh... I think about 3 or 4 years before it, I had an argument about Musk with one of my brothers who really likes him.

At that time I had watched a few engineers do the math on all this achievements, only to find out he's hyping up mundane things that already exist.

But most distressingly, he was saying apartheid things, and critiquing the arrest of a fascist who provoked violence.

My brother wasn't convinced.

What surprised me most about the salut was that he did it publicly! Right there out in the open! But besides that it was a full fledged visual proof of what I had been saying already for years. Surely my brother would not be so stu-...

No, I was just on the hate bandwagon. Of course that wasn't a Nazi salut, I just want to see it as one because I enjoy hating Musk. Because hating Musk is the popular thing to do right now.

Guy who spends vast fortunes finding, organizing, and financing far-right criminal gangs to commit violent crimes against non-white population centers: "They are only calling me names because they want to hurt me."

You know what, I never clocked before that his fascination with the letter x is probably a substitute for a more infamous symbol. That makes way too much sense.

[–] Honytawk@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 1 hour ago

Close, but X in ascii code is 88, which is code for HH or heir hitler.

The exact sort of edgy joke he likes.

[–] finallymadeanaccount@lemmy.world 16 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

World's first trillionaire is just as worthless as he's always been.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Henry Ford, John Rockafeller, and Andrew Carnagie would be proud.

[–] JcbAzPx@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

Hey, at least Ford realized that workers needed to be paid so he could sell more cars.

And he's wrong. We don't want people to murder him. We want him to decide that he's going to personally settle Mars and go on a space mission and live out the rest of his days in outer space, or inner space, or at least on another planet, far from us.

If he gets to Mars, great. We still don't have to deal with him. If he doesn't get there, then at least he'll have some kind of ironic ending.

Also, if you look at the impact that cutting USAid has, he's one of the good biggest mass murderers in human history.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 3 points 2 hours ago

No, I want him to serve the rest of his life in prison, with his withered dick, ruminating on how he ended up in a tiny dungeon, even though he had all that money, and should be living the most luxurious life on the planet.

Waste of of resources, the fucker's circling a perpetual khole, he'll fall in of his own accord

[–] Alaknar@sopuli.xyz 2 points 3 hours ago

Yeah, I've done some analysis and it turns out that the world at large would be fine, everything would still work.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 0 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago) (1 children)

We don’t want people to murder him.

Also, if you look at the impact that cutting USAid has, he’s one of the good biggest mass murderers in human history.

The fixation on USAID is really annoying, as it's a known front for intelligence services that provides aid as a second-order benefit. Doggedly insisting that millions of people are dying because USAID doesn't exist is a cop-out. US foreign policy focused on encircling, embargoing, arming dissidents, and outright bombing public infrastructure creates far more pain and suffering than anything USAID resolves. The real crimes of the Musk Administration have been on the Pentagon side of the equation - facilitating military actions in Sudan and Ethiopia, the Philippines, Libya, Syria, Gaza and the West Bank, and Iran - through his Starlink network.

He's a mass murderer because he provides material support for mass murder, not because he cut back on the CIA's "Food for Snitches" program.

[–] JcbAzPx@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

It's obviously multi purpose, but its main purpose is humanitarian aid that saves lives and keeps our national reputation out of the gutter.

One of the things that has kept us from going the way of the Soviet Union is having most of our international meddling being saving lives and fixing things. It at least partly makes up for (or at least distracts from) the heinous shit we do as well.

[–] ViceroTempus@lemmy.world 23 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Both can be right. I would like Elon Musk easily killed, and believe nobody should feel bad about it. Let's face it, Billionaires are a modern day plague killing us in various ways. As such I want them executed for crimes against humanity, but might settle for every last one of their assets and a vow of poverty enforced by the public.

[–] TheparishofChigwell@sh.itjust.works 3 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

No this one definitely needs corporal punishment. Hang him.

[–] Hossenfeffer@feddit.uk 4 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

You mean capital punishment. Corporal punishment could be a literal slap on the wrist.

[–] TheparishofChigwell@sh.itjust.works 1 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Caning to death is a bit more than slaps

[–] Hossenfeffer@feddit.uk 3 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Yes. And 'to death' elevates it to capital punishment.

[–] TheparishofChigwell@sh.itjust.works 1 points 45 minutes ago

Ah. Well, maybe resuscitate then after

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 6 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

thats the point ketamine musk, have you not seen inglorius bastards, or

[–] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 12 points 11 hours ago

Hungarian here, the moment saying the word "nazi" became "politically incorrect", the concept of a "far right" became unspeakable in public discourse, even if someone wore nazi memorabilia in public, and we were told to never ever again use the tern "far right" in public. It took a decade of "FideSS" and the government's public apathy to growing right wing extremism to fix things, and not everything is back to "normal" (at least anti-Roma sentiment is less popular now, same with anti-LGBTQIA+).

[–] Phantaloons@piefed.zip 4 points 9 hours ago

More of a side perk.

[–] nonentity@sh.itjust.works 6 points 11 hours ago

Financial obesity is an existential threat to any society that tolerates it, and needs to cease being celebrated, rewarded, and positioned as an aspirational goal.

Corporations are the only ‘persons’ which should be subjected to capital punishment, but trillionaires should be forced to transition into billionaires, and billionaires should be euthanised through taxation.

[–] A_norny_mousse@piefed.zip 9 points 13 hours ago (4 children)

Him saying people want to kill me just might be the reason someone kills him evtl.

I mean yeah, Eat the Rich and such, but honestly I don't want these people dead. I want them held accountable.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago

I want them cowed to mundanity

[–] Rothe@piefed.social 4 points 7 hours ago

The problem is that these oligarchs are richer than entire countries. Noone is powerful enough to hold them accountable, and noone ever will.

A single dollarstore drone packed with explosives on the other hand...

[–] WizardofFrobozz@lemmy.ca 2 points 8 hours ago

If you don’t want them dead you’re part of the problem.
